I didn’t think it was going to work and was happily proven wrong. It’s a difficult process, I remember it well x

We have one blastocyst on board, got a call at 8am this morning and sobbed for some time after, could not stop thanking whoever is helping us, I knew the odds were against us with only 1 fertilised egg!

I know that's no guarantee it will stick, so lots more prayers and more positive thinking.

A couple of easy days, before a work course on weds then a couple more days of AL. Need to keep my mind occupied this week, next week back at work so the week should fly by.

By some miracle it had worked! Early days still, thankful for every day.

Should have a scan in 2 weeks to check viability. Nervous, but for as long as im waking for my 3am toilet run, or breaking out in yet more spots I feel strangely reassured.

With the ectopics I didn't test positive until 2 weeks later because it takes longer for hcg to rise. This time we tested positive early!

    Mse wise

Paywise it wasn't a payrise I had missed but the local authority backdated pay. I could have sworn we were all offered 2% so how it ended up at 1.75 i have no clue. Unless some staff fall under one pay and some under another? Who knows I do need to get a bit more clued up about this. Or was the 2% quoted the year before backdate that I somehow missed? I really need to ask questions get this straight in my head. Can't believe it takes a year to get the actual difference, I hope thats not repeated.

We've yet to recieve the council tax payment, that needs to go straight on the gas bill.

Payday tomorrow, we've got a strict food budget to cut back to for next month so budget is all prepared. Need to get into a better habit now to boost our savings and make things easier in 8 months!

So very high right now, insanely giddy, we saw our beautiful bean in the right place with heart thumping away ❤️

Early days but cannot believe our luck truly cannot 🌈❤

Money wise it's just crazy, I've used £40 of fuel in the past week, that used to last me close to 2 weeks. Visiting family tomorrow so will need to top up again before placement starts its further away from my usual workplace but the good news is I can claim the difference in expenses, that should take the edge off.

In good news there was an invite to a reward club in my first emmas diary pack, I used to do it a few years back until my laptop broke. I've since replaced it so was chuffed to see I could rejoin, the vouchers were so handy towards Christmas, birthdays, it will really help.

I've worked out with a top up of occupational pay for a couple of months maternity should be manageable. When the time comes to pay for nursery fees things will feel hugely tighter. From then for around 2 years every penny will be watched, then I should hopefully qualify and get good payrise.

So the focus is on saving as much as we can now to try to make the tough times a bit easier. We already agreed we will get as much as we can reasonably get second hand. I was given a huge amount by friends and an old boss when DD was born, I barely had to buy a thing, but I do remember how quickly  she outgrew moses basket, cot etc I passed them onto others but she didn't have them long at all.

A while to go before I get brave enough to start buying, maybe around August time all being well but I'll enjoy window shopping in the meantime!
