  • To protect yourself from catching the virus from other people it’s a visor that’s better. Also, don’t touch any part of your face unless you’ve just washed your hands.

Constantly pulling a mask back up over your nose could protect others if you had the virus but could give you the virus if it’s on your unwashed hands.

    would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

There's definitely no 'a' in 'definitely'.
  • It's quite a small office. I obviously take precautions but it's difficult to be completely socially distant whilst working.
Yes, I am referring to after the current lockdown.
Ironically, this person has an underlying health condition and insisted on self isolating for 3 months during the first lockdown. Everyone else has to pick up the slack whilst they were furloughed. They insisted that they had to isolate as it was the government guidance. But they're happy to ignore it now that it suits them.

If you’re working in a small office with an infected person you’ll catch the virus. That’s how it works. They are highly infectious for a couple of days before they feel ill, and a visor/mask will only keep out the major droplets.

The infection fatality rate is about 0.5%, but if you’re not too old and reasonably fit, you’ll probably just feel poorly for a week or two.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

If it is GUIDANCE then you can pick and choose which bits you want to follow.

I’m not sure that it matters what you call it. There’s a statutory instrument laying down laws that this guy is breaking. It’s a criminal offence.

    There is a summary here

The law is here (subject to a couple of amending orders about Armistice Day and Christmas trees):

In which case I suggest you write him a little note giving the link and saying that you will inform the police.

A bit late now. No more weekends during the current lockdown period and I don't believe that the legislation for post 2 December has been published, or even passed in Parliament.

If the last legislation is anything to go by, it is likely to be enacted on 2 December. There is a Hansard dashboard to keep an eye on all this stuff:

Yes it may be an offence but so is speeding. I wouldn’t worry about it.
Do you condone drink driving, too?
