Daughter been offered work via Facebook ?? (Health Boss / Juice Plus).

Hi all

Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this but...

My 20 year old daughter has been contacted by a friend of a friend via facebook and offered a way to make a little bit of money.

Its by advertising products for a company called "Health Boss" (I think it sells / promotes "Juice Plus" products).

The girl that contacted my daughter did tell her that she gets a bonus for recruiting other people so seems to have been up front about that.

I may just be getting old & maybe this is the way of the world now but I'm obviously concerned in case there is anything amiss about this offer.

My daughter has a decent, & relatively secure job so doesn't really need to do this for financial reasons but is interested as she is a bit bored at the moment (as is most of the population I guess).

Can anyone give me any information about this company / what she might be asked to do & ultimately is she going to end up being out of pocket in some way  ??

Thanks all & stay safe!
Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???

  • I have a few FB friends that do this, they try to sell their products, then a few weeks later encourage you to get involved by telling you what fantastic money they are making, would be interested to know what their profit margins are. It does feel as if the recruitment of new people is the harder sale than the products.
Other than a friend of a friend that kept it going awhile it doesn't usually last long and is never mentioned again

Why does 'Health Boss' think your daughter will be able to advertise their products better than they can?

TBH, if you regularly read Praise, Vent & Warnings board and Consumer Rights board, the mere mention of doing any sort of business involving Facebook results in the proverbial bargepole being mentioned.

But if it's not going to cost her any money, is going to keep her occupied and isn't going to hack her friends off by her trying to get them to buy products or recruit them to advertise Health Boss products, I guess she doesn't have anything to lose.
I wouldn't want a friend of mine trying to get me to buy over-priced juice products.

  • I had a friend keep pushing me to take on a similar kind of thing, we're no longer friends as there's only so many times I will say no to someone.
Take a look on local selling groups, how many people are pushing to sign others up to these fantastic schemes, then look at their own profiles all you see are the spam advertising, never anything to do with how all this magic money is being spent, after all, if it's that we'll paid why not be having a few holidays a year, replace the kids clothes, furniture and anything else which is long overdue.

If she is that bored, she can take up a new hobby, learn a new language, volunteer or a million other things to pass the time.

    Thanks everyone.
I've sent her the link to this thread & she has decided against pursuing a career in MLM.

Have to say kudos to your daughter for not being daft enough to go for it without sense-checking it first. :)
