Have you been through your solicitors' own complaints procedure first? Your posting history suggests probably not.

Looking at your posting history you seem to have a poor grasp of what a solicitor should do and seem to want to ignore their standard requests for information from the seller.

    Good luck with your complaint

what is your complaint that you are hoping to escalate to the ombudsman.  and as already asked, have you made a complaint to the solicitors themselves?

Solicitors are required to work in accordance with the UK Finance Mortgage Lenders' Handbook specific to your mortgage lender. There's no shortcutting the process.

There’s the SRA that would be your first step,  they would have expected you to have tried to resolve it directly first though

    The SRA is pretty useless.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

That’s my experience with the SRA.

In any case, I think the Ombudsman is the best route for complaints. The SRA is interested only in pretty serious regulatory issues.

The SRA does not deal with consumer complaints. They only deal with regulatory issues (which is a very small minority of complaints). If you make a complaint about for example the level of service you received to the SRA, the SRA will simply direct you to the Legal Ombudsman. This is explained on the SRA's website.

Before complaining to the Legal Ombudsman you need to have complained to your solicitor, and either received their final response or have waited 8 weeks. This is explained on the Legal Ombudsman's website.

Is this a conveyancing issue? If so, there is a chance you are not dealing with a firm of solicitors at all - but instead a licensed conveyancing firm, in which case you need to look into complaining to the Council of Licensed Conveyancers.
