PARKINGEYE DCBL Letter 4 years old Scotland

Hello, received a letter from DCBL for ParkingEye dated 4 years ago. States - ‘previously wrote at a different address, 14 days to pay £170 or result in recommending legal action’. Thing is we stayed at the same address for 1.5 years after the date of alleged charge and didn’t receive any correspondence. We have also changed cars 2 years after said alleged charge. Perplexed as to why it has taken to long to locate us as everything has always been upto date. Live in Scotland. Unsure of the location where alleged fine is from so following advice on Newbies page sent SAR to PrivateEye requesting all information data, photos etc. So could try and complain to the store/car park/land owner. Received a reply stating ‘Thank you for your email and request received pertaining to the above referenced Parking Charge.

Upon conducting a search of our systems, we can confirm that we no longer hold any personal data relating to the same. Therefore we are unable to provide a response to your request. If you believe that we hold other personal data about you in relation to another Parking Charge or a particular vehicle, please advise (of any PCN refs/addresses/vehicle registrations that apply) by reply to this email and upon receipt we will review your request and provide a response accordingly.’

Writing for a bit of help because if we can’t specific where alleged parking was how can complain to the store or land owner? Where do we go from here?

TIA

Just file it and ignore for now

It's Parking Eye v, not Private Eye !!

The PPC has 5 years to pursue a driver in Scotland , so sit on your hands

Come back if you get a simple procedures process claim from the Sheriff office

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Private eye haha silly me!!
We only gave the parking eye reference from the DCBL letter, did offer further ID but that was the reply and I haven’t replied but probably won’t going by Redx advice. Thanks

Parking Eye do their own court claims

PE are just using DCBL as a walk in walk out public convenience hoping they can find a mug.

DCBL have now faked the claim by adding £70.  And there is every chance that in their letter they mention the Parking Eye v Beavis as a scare tactic
As the Beavis case made it clear, that the parking charge included the costs of operating the scheme, Will PE go to court adding fakery ???  Not so far so it makes the DCBL letter rubbish to which we are seeing every day.  Using these debt collectors who add fakery, does PE no favours

Anyway, you are in Scotland if PE dare try.

So, the best place for a DCBL 14 day letter is flush it down the loo where it belongs

Tell us what the retail park has to say.  They'll cancel it, as per all the other ones in Scotland over the years this is Plan A.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • We don’t know what retail park it was, have no idea where as it was 4 years ago. Was hoping by getting info from Parking Eye ie photos etc or something we could tell where it was so could contact the retail park as per Plan A. There’s nothing on the one piece of correspondence that indicates where this allegedly happened. Thanks

OK, that is simple, and the NEWBIES thread post #2 shows you how to email a SAR.  That's what you need.

P/Eye have a privacy/data queries form on a webpage on their site = easy.

  • I done the data query on the Parking Eye website and they emailed me to say they no longer held any personal data relating to the parking charge. Which seems strange to me. I gave them their reference number no other ID. Do I go back to them and advise further information ie car Reg, ID etc? Or do I keep the email and await further correspondence which I assume from DCBL
