A strange day, it started well and I did my morning exercise class, had breakfast and shower and hung some washing out. But then I couldnt settle to any work and time seemed to drag. Anyway, I am in the office tomorrow so that might motivate me, its not like me to find it hard to focus on the paid stuff. Asda shopping all sorted and put away, hoovered and dusted LR, made shepherds pie and made apple crumble with a bit of assistance from DH. Few bit of clean washing to put away, and crumble to eat!8

Evening all
Snap YL, I couldn’t focus at paid stuff either today! I had a good hour or so before going out to my appointment but then when I got back I just could not settle in to work, I was glad to finish as the time really dragged! I actually finished slightly early as I figured I wasn’t getting much accomplished anyway. Hope tomorrow is better.
In flying news, wm x 2 run, towels put through TD and the rest in on the airer, dailies done, fish pie for supper was yummy, all dishes done and kitchen reset. Also swished over the en suite this morning, did the exercises for my hip and had a short walk.Just having a sit down and a catch up now before my zoom book club later. Have a good evening all x7 -
For some reason I have an urge to make a Christmas Cake. I don't think I have made one in this house. It will be my 23rd Christmas here.
The fruit is soaking in brandy. I just need to wash the lemon and grate the rind into the container. Unwaxed lemons are on offer in Mr. M - I shall wash them all and freeze them in slices ready for seasonal beverages. Or hot lemon drinks.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

A day of nothing much. Work done, dailies done, big pile of ironing done.
Last night I pulled my knitting undone (not as bad as it sounds - I hadn’t done much, but still....). I guess I had better start it again now as it is DSis Christmas present. I can’t say that I am motivated though.
I hope Mr Jazee is ok.8 -
Mr Jazee is recovering slowly, very slowly but he'll get there in the end. However, his immune system isn't good, he has open wounds from drains and we've made the decision this evening to cancel a family Christmas whatever Mr. Johnson says. Not worth the risk.
The offspring have been very understanding, we all have zoom, and they won't have to choose between various households. Several years ago due to work commitments we had a Skype Christmas and that worked very well.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Jazee you have been so busy. Don't blame you re the Christmas arrangements. We are still trying to decide. Instinct is to go down to see my Mum, she says that although she actually has a friend she walks with, makes lots of phone/messenger chats and emails to various people plus chats over the fence to her neighbours and the man who helps with her garden, she isn't actually in a 'bubble' with anyone i.e. nobody else goes into her house. So if the 'Christmas travel' time scale looks difficult, we could conceivably go down a day before the rush (130miles). She lives half an hour from BIL so if as predicted 3 households can mix, he could come over for a visit.
Met a friend in the nearest town park today (nearest to me she lives in London), unrelated but a sort of honorary cousin as our mums went to college together. She just turned 60 yesterday and lives alone but said she had received lots of phone calls/Zooms etc. We had a lovely walk, strange to be walking as it is my ParkRun location, frosty and sunny.
Picked up a few things in Sbury, thought I was being quick but they picked my self-scanned and packed bag to re-scan which was a pain.
Lady in village who makes and sells hand-made soap gifts came round with a box of samples, so that is a few presents sorted.
Finished and emailed a report.
Practised drums.
Started getting paperwork ready for this week's assessments.
Emailed manager to discuss when I should start back after the break - my suggestion was to wait until week 2 of term to give any 'home-collected' germs time to dissipate. Apparently week 2 is exam/assessment week so we agreed I'd start back on w/b 18th Jan which sound decadent but safer. However I'm booked up to and including 16 Dec so I will have plenty to write up.
Finalised Mr T order.
Did a bit of knitting.
Chat with my brother who does have work available near me this week, so will be up tomorrow. I always enjoy him lodging with us but will need a major tidy up tomorrow am as drum stuff is all over the spare room, Christmas cards on the dining room table and half the kitchen still in disarray.
About the Aga saga I won't bore you but the situation is not looking very good. Forgot to buy a new hot water bottle in Sbury.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -

Morning all
A good start to the day here for me. But a cold, grey foggy one.
Bed made, clothes picked up
Living room tidied etc
Kitchen tidied
WM on
Taken files to work and popped into L**l opposite for a few missing bits
Pellet stoves cleaned and reloaded (and about to go on I think)
Downstairs hoovered
Shopping put away (adding it here as in the past I would leave shopping on the side for days)
I have a video lesson at lunch time so need to send her some material for that. Then hopefully I will feel motivated to tidy something somewhere

Good morning everyone,
My list for today:

- Check and water plants. Record any important information (dissertation)
- Book a slot for the local recycling centre
- Make a festive food shopping list, as going shopping
tomorrow
- Empty the study bin

Think that is enough for me to be tackling today. Hope everyone has a productive Tuesday.

Afternoon all. Hope you're all ok today.
I have spent all of 30 minutes studying......dailies are done, delivery taken in and cupboard of doom partially sorted to make room for it. Dogs are not walked yet. Procrastination is the buzzword for today.Spend less now, work less later.9
