Morning all
I hope you are all safe and well fed after yesterday. Not much to report but didn't check in for a few days so thought I'd do so now.
Still have enough food left for a couple more dinners so will make the most of that. Although OH's mum insists on cooking him dinner today because she couldn't yesterday as I'd cooked (never mind that we're all in tier 4...)
Plans for today are possibly a walk with a friend who's working at the local hospital and a phone call to parents.3 -

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and managed to "see" your loved ones in one way or another.
I was expecting it to be very quiet here but we had so many phone calls and doorstep visits it was 2.00pm before we managed breakfast. As a result we weren't hungry enough to have Christmas dinner so it's been kind of delayed until today. Still, we did have some very nice prawns, etc and it was very relaxing and enjoyable day.
Back to things NSD. I think I'm on no 19 now.
A quiet day today. Weather is awful so I'm looking forward to a day in front of the tele.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.3 -
Hope my fellow NSTs had a nice Christmas.
A couple of NSDs in the bag between yesterday and today. Now at 12/15. Had a lot of chocolate and other treats over the past few days and feeling it - blurgh. Given a lot of chocolate and sweets as gifts so I’ll need to pace myself otherwise I know I’ll end up feeling really awful. DS had a great day, and got so many gifts from family and neighbours that I’ve put some by for his birthday in a few months. I got lots of great new books so I should not need to spend a penny on books this year. In fact, I’ll state right here that I will NOT spend anything on books for myself in 2021!
Weekly grocery shop due tomorrow so I need to finalise meal plan tonight and confirm order by 11am. Aiming to keep it below £50 and keeping top-ups under £20.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸4 -
Saturday- yesterday and today have been NSDs so on 15/15.
Hope everyone has enjoyed the festive season, however it has been.
Today has been fairly relaxed, have to at least finish putting DDs presents away and run the hoover round! Tomorrow will be productive!4 -
Today I am grateful for getting out for a good walk with dh and dd, for not overdoing the chocolate, for my kettle bells, for enjoyable tv, for dh cooking the ham for tea.

Now is the perfect time to replenish your 'gifting drawer/cupboard', check the dates on those chocolates and sweets, and if you honestly have too many, and you really do not want to eat them, and they have a long date on them, put them away or you are just going to eat them all. I have shoved a few bars into the pantry near the baking things. They can be useful there, and then they will end up being devoured by 6 people, instead of being mindlessly picked at by one bored Turtle in front of the telly of an evening. We decided not to buy lots of stuff in, but somehow the pantry is still groaning with things because I have a bad ys habit and found lots of ys store cupboard staples this month and last. So operation Use-It-Up is in effect from tomorrow. We had the festive meal with the exploding table decorations, and roast potatoes and stuffing and.... and... and.... and ... but tomorrow the soup pot is going back on. Baked potatoes are on the menu. The diet is being looked at in F0xh0le Towers, I mean if not now... when? Trying to get into good habits early, and I am going to try not to go into any shop AT ALL for the rest of the year (all 5 days of it). Which will mean a 7 day run of NSDs, which could be handy as I lost count of my NSDs at 3, so I might just make it into double figures.I am ignoring the 50% off emails from everyone and their Uncle Bob that are hitting my inbox. I am not getting involved. I will be able to find most of what I still need in the c/s when they open again, when everyone gets rid of unwanted gifts BNWT, and I might just get down to a size 12 if I pay a little bit more attention to what I am doing. I am still ridiculously impressed I am in size 14 jeans. I just need to keep focus.Today's exercise involved humping furniture about the ground floor before DH got up, moving the tree into the backroom, and hoovering. Feeling really quite positive today.Gratitudes: twinkly lights, happy kids, Mr Henry the happy faced vacuum cleaner, The Earl of Grey and his blend of tea.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Happy (belated) Christmas 🎄🎅🏻🎁⭐⛄
Thanks you all so much for your kind words after my last post (back on 09th!!!) and so sorry I have been out of action. I feel so rude not acknowledging you all until now - but know I am deeply thankful and grateful to you all.
I hope you all had an AMAZING Christmas and are enjoying the post-celebration lull... I have had a total unwind... or maybe unravel might be better lol - my routines went out the window... and I have just 'done normal things' as one of you suggested in your reply. Been for walks, spent time with family and a friend (outside)... Was with Mum and Dad Christmas Eve through to today, and though tiring - had lots of laughs and made some happy memories.
I love this time now between Christmas and NY to fully take stock, and re-evaluate, and prepare for 2021. I am already piecing back together parts of my day to day life - keeping things in that are important to me... and trying to cut back/eliminate those things that no longer serve.
Thank you Mothernerd for all your useful posts around mood and activating brain chemicals/hormones - loved it. You are so knowledgeable about so many things. You are like the 'Turtles Compendium of Everything'.
Enjoy the rest of the festive break - and I will try and get my !!!!!! back in gear from here on. The break has done me good - but it's also good to be back. Big hugs everyone xxx⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Sunday 27th December 2020
Well I've seen some lists of 50 or 100 suggestions for the New Year and I'm going to treat them the same way as those gigantic lists of lists to put in your bullet journal - however do these people find time to do anything else besides tick boxes and decorate their pages beautifully. I can't find the one I really liked - I've seen variations for the end of the day (helping with gratitude and focusing on the positive aspects), start of the week (helping prioritise and avoiding procrastination and 'busy work') and one for reviewing the current year (written by Stephen King, directed by Tarantino) and starting to plan for the next. So I've found a couple of smallish ones - simple and straightforward. One is sensible and one a bit quirky. I'm sure apple's challenge for January will contain a life map if you don't know where to start (I think it's your gig apple - they're not fighting you for it)
Questions to Reflect on the Year
What went well this year?
What did not go well?
What do I want to do the same next year?
What do I want to do differently?
When did I feel most alive?
When did I feel most exhausted and drained?
What did I say 'yes' to that I wish I'd said 'no' to?
What did I say 'no' to that I wished I'd said 'yes' to?
Year end Review
One word to describe the year
Best thing you did for someone else this year
Most embarrassing moment of the year
The time you laughed the hardest this year
Something you learned to do/ had never done before
Most newsworthy event (?!!?**)
Biggest lesson learned
Favourite place you visited (this may be a generic list)
Most memorable moment / day
Best advice you received this year
An achievement you are most proud of
Reminisce on one great compliment you received
What or whom are you most thankful for this year
These aren't for publication, just starting points for you to think about the year and formulate a plan for next. Your plan for next year could just be to have a simple life, be happy and content and no major health concerns. Even then you need to recognise what makes you happy, what you want more of in your life and how to cut out stress (or learn to deal with it/ your reaction to it).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5
