Hi can I please be added to the challenge again.
@mothernerd "So I'm currently in the process of rebuilding myself and my life from the ground up, working out how I get more of the things I need in my life (so far Thursday short walk along the canal bank, Friday long internet chat with DS1, Yesterday music). Have been reading through my stock of accumulated wisdom and will spend the rest of this year bouncing back, rising and rediscovering JOY."
This is so important, but paying attention everyday does a huge difference. Thanks for running December.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Thanks for the new challenge @mothernerd. I’m excited to get started.
Can’t see us spending as much on festivities given the circumstances this year with Covid so will use this to our advantage. I’ll be trying to save as much as I can to add to the emergency fund because we’re expecting a job loss in 2021.
I’ll still be pulling out the stops to make memories for us as a family and especially for DS who’s almost 4 and starting to ‘get it’ but I’ll be doing it as an NST. Will bring out the Christmas story books, the annoying musical elf, the jumpers, and of course the advent calendar on the 1st. And will sprinkle other activities throughout the month like tree/decorations up, Christmas crafts and games, music/kitchen disco, films, Christmas tree spotting, some baking, ho, ho, ho and all the rest.
For the most part, we will be home cooking but we will also be getting a takeaway in December. We can make really good homemade pizzas BUT BUT BUT it is a long-held tradition of ours to watch Home Alone accompanied by, in the words of Kevin McCallister, ‘a delicious cheese pizza just for me’. Won’t actually get one each because I’d burst but not keeping this tradition is non-negotiable.
Going to aim high and go for 20 NSDs. In theory we should only need groceries and petrol. And our takeaway obviously.
Budgets all set for December and the New Year with the main goals being to OP the mortgage and build emergency fund as much as possible before anticipated job loss. Next year’s budget is based on living on one wage and saving the other - hopefully this will prepare us for the change when it happens (we’ve both always had a job). It might even have a positive impact longer-term if we get used to living on one rather than the two.
Will be aiming to go for a walk every day in December. We’ve all got waterproofs so no excuses even if it’s raining unless it’s torrential.
And definitely going to find 3 things at the end of each day to be grateful for. I really enjoy reading these snippets from NSTs at the end of each day.
Good luck to all the NSTs for December (savings or otherwise) - let’s end this year on an up!
