NST DECEMBER Don't Be a Martyr for Christmas

Dear gods, I would have to take out a second mortgage to get Uncle Kip to make enough cakes to fill my boys!DS1 saw an advert involving a carrot with boundary issues, and said 'Oh, those bowling balls, pudding things, that is this time of year isn't it? I said 'Christmas Pudding?' he said, 'Oh, so the clue's in the name isn't it? Hmm, I like those'Made two huge pizzas last night, came in under £2 . I am a fan of Mr Greggory's mice pies though. But only buying those once a week on a Friday as a treat. The amaretto hot chocolate goes very well with them. To be fair it would go well with cornflakes.I am loving looking fab in my black bobble hat / black mask combo- all you can see is my eyes, like a capering, scampering ninja. I might be feeling the need for a cloak. It does tend to reappear at this time of year.Right, more tea and kid herding, volunteering, kid capturing, and a lovely lovely bubble bath are on the cards for today.Only 12 more school days including today, Teacher Turtle Friends! The end is in sight. Thank you for hanging in there.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD yesterday - just some YS mince from smkt when returning an item of clothing.
Grateful for new fire (it works! it's safe!), for feeding swans and moorhen when out on walk, for hearing back from a builder and an electrician about work we want/ need doing.

Morning allNot managed a NSD yet, mainly due to online present shopping and grocery deliveries. Still, the month is young. Pie making planned here today (or possibly tomorrow if the filling doesn't finish cooking and cool in time). Steak and mushroom today. We do a secret santa among the adults in our family (ie, each person buys a present for one other only), this year's theme is home made presents - I am not crafty at all, but I can cook, and know that my son in law, whose name I drew out of the (virtual) hat, will be very pleased indeed to receive a selection of pies
I will freeze them, obviously. Children get presents as normal btw, hence the online shopping! My adult children came up with this idea, and although I was a bit dubious at first, as it felt odd not to buy all my children Christmas presents, it works really well. Under normal circumstances we all meet up in DD1's barn for a family party (she has loads of space) to exchange presents, but we will have to do things differently this year.

NSD 2 yesterday. Grateful for a good day at work, coffee, hm garlic bread and hot water bottles.
Today won't be a NSD as I need to get some things to drop off to one of my residents who's currently in hospital so thought I'd pop into town to get those and do some Christmas shopping at the same time.

Hugs to Kerry Woman.Still haven't managed a NSD yet, today won't be either, Xmas meal out with friend before all our pubs close. Can see all of Wales travelling to England for drinks!!Going to have a talk with myself, need to get exercising somehow. Last night after body massage, was a couch potato. Off work this afternoon, lovely damp grey day here, will push myself to walk somewhere. I never realised you had to wear a mask in the gym for exercising. Don't think I could do that. All snuffly atm.Grateful forHaving a job, even though everyone was putting bins out this morning in their pjs made me jealous. Suppose I would be more lazy at home.A night out this evening.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/227

Hugs from me too, Kerry Woman. And welcome stuck2020.
Mr Kipling makes my cakes as well because I certainly can't.
NSD No 2.
A lovely dusting of snow this morning but it is absolutely freezing. I've only ventured as far as the bin store.
I haven't done anything out of the ordinary today but I have just received a beautiful bottle of gin from my friend for my birthday. It's not till later this month but I didn't know what it was or where it came from so I've opened it. The package that is not the bottle.
Today I'm grateful for having such a lovely friend.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
Ha ha, no one would tell you off if you'd opened the bottle too toni'sfriend! We'd pull up the chaise longue and join you for a tipple!

£7 on top-up shop and £3 on a pretty poinsettia today so not a NSD. Nearly gave in to impulse buys at T3sc0. The Christmas Mickey jumper and slippers for myself was physically in the trolley on its way to the checkout. Thankfully I had a little telling-off in my head and managed to put them back. I also flirted with the half price Duplo for DS until I reminded myself he’s got more than enough presents coming his way.
Homemade carrot and rice soup for lunch today and veggie fajitas planned for tonight’s dinner.
Didn’t manage a walk today as I ended up having to go to the doctors for a painful ear infection, and having a very busy day at work. Still got my 1500ml of water in though.
Grateful for my job, the NHS, and showing willpower at the shops today.
Better go and get this dinner on - my tummy’s grumbling at me.
