    I guess the other option is to get your own engineer out to look at it for a second opinion. If they find a fault you could try claiming the cost of your engineer back from them but you might or might not be successful without going down a legal route.

    There’s definitely nothing blocking the soap drawer. This machine fills straight into the front of the wash and the opening is large. The engineer did pull the machine out to check the hose and drainage (only after I insisted!) and he said there was no problem. 

    Zanussi say if I call an engineer out and they don’t find a fault, I’ll be charged for the cost of the visit so I’m worried about calling them out again. They probably would have charged me for the previous visit except the drawer was an obvious fault. 


    Did the engineer take the back panel off?, the pressure switch hose is inside the m/c

    No, he didn’t. He just looked at the hose and checked it was draining properly.

    My thinking is, the pressure switch controls the water level, it uses air pressure , as it fills with water air is forced up the hose to a set water level controlled by the board, if this gets blocked it can fill high, when the water drains the pressure switch chamber could be blocked or the hose kinked or damaged so as not to let the air out, therefore the m/c thinks it is still full of water and won’t spin, the engineer should check this, it could be that a p,c, board is damaged giving the impression of the above problem, you could check yourself by removing the lid, locating the hose ( a thin rubber/ plastic tube) it might be on a round plastic disk ( a bit like a car horn) or it might go direct to the board, if you removed the hose and blew down it it should be clear, it depends how confident you are, you could either , get a local engineer to fix it and send them the bill, or , call them back an£ tell them to put it as a recall ,,
