You seriously think you can take it back after 48 hours and get a full refund, no quibbles? Fantasy land. You'll be offered the trade-in price, not the purchase price, with a reduction for the drop in value with an additional name on the V5C.Impossible to quantify without knowing the details of the car and price paid.
lNo free lunch, and no free laptop

What outcome does the OP actually way?
I get the part about returning the car and then having the money back, but what will the OP do for a car after that?
What is the reason for wanting to swap the car? Why isn't the car suitable?
If the OP still wants to have a Mercedes of similar value, there may be a reasonable outcome possible.0 -

We offer the choice of either home delivery or collection from a Customer Centre conducted by one of our qualified Handover Specialists, a 7-Day Money Back Guarantee, a free 90-day warranty with RAC roadside assistance and 7 days of free driveaway insurance.
As far as OP goes best to ask the dealer that the car was bought from on the policy.
Quote from Sytner's on distance selling regs.13. Distance and Off Premises Contracts
(a) In accordance with The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, if the Customer as a private consumer has (1) entered into this contract prior to a face-to-face meeting with Sytner or (2) the contract is agreed face-to-face with Sytner in a place that is not Sytner’s business premises or (3) the Customer places an order during a face-to-face meeting with Sytner that happens in a place that is not Sytner’s business premises or (4) the contract is entered into on Sytner's business premises or through any means of distance communication immediately after a face-to-face meeting between Sytner and the Customer in a place that is not Sytner’s business premises, then the Customer may cancel the contract without giving any reason up to 14 days after the day upon which the Customer (or anyone on the Customer’s behalf) takes possession of the Goods.
So OP might be Ok to return. But does need to speak to the dealer that supplied the car. As it looks like Merc C&C is a dealer based purchase option.

Do you think it might have something to do with that nasty bug that's going around?EdGasketTheSecond said:Why on earth do a major purchase on 'click and collect'; especially a car, I am lost for words1 -
Which means that, in theory, you can buy your Merc, take it for a fortnight's touring holiday, then return it for a full refund with 3,000 miles added on the clock, plus a few little parking dings-no questions asked?AdrianC said:
If it qualifies as a distance sale under DSR, then there is a legal right for 14 days, yes.macman said:You seriously think you can take it back after 48 hours and get a full refund, no quibbles?
This can hardly have been the intention of the DSR legislation. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Most Merc main dealers have the change of mind policy for approved used, but it's limited to 1000 miles.macman said:

No it doesn't mean that at all. The legislation is quite clear with regards what you can or cannot do in terms of handling goods purchased. A full refund is due unless handling goes "beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods" which is defined by anything "beyond the sort of handling that might reasonably be allowed in a shop". So to recap, you're probably able to to go for a short test drive but nothing more than that.macman said:

Wow lots of judgements on here!
We needed a car urgently for work commute (key worker) and old car coming up to 3 months pre MOT so harder to part ex the nearer to MOT.
Read loads of reviews and forums and it was between this car and another. I just can't get the hang of driving it, controls are so different to old car too.
We part ex agreed at a distance and when i clicked and collected I paid balance. I test drove it but only for a few mins.
Anyway ive spoken to dealership and agreeed I am going to give it a few more days. They seem to be keen to help resolve it even if i swap for a different Merc.

This is key, can you confirm you paid the balance at the dealership?smorri4 said:Wow lots of judgements on here!
