Car purchase - rights to return within 14 days?
Hello I have recently purchased a used car (2018 plate) from Mercedes.
It was done on a click and collect basis.
I have had it now for 48 hours and I am just not sure its the right car for me.
We part ex'd it and got £500 for old car, I then paid rest part credit card part debit card.
Does anyone know my rights with returning car and getting money back? Are they likely to sting me and make me pay a fee or reduce amount they pay back to me?

If there's nothing wrong with it you've no automatic right to a refund.0 -
Where did you make the payments? How was the part-ex handled?
If any at that occurred at the dealership then distance selling laws don't apply.0 -

The information you need is here: https://www.thecarexpert.co.uk/bought-a-car-and-changed-my-mind/#:~:text=In a nutshell, you have,of their returns/cancellation policy.
This aligns with the advice given by DiddyDavies above. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -

This is because if the payment was made at a distance and the payment accepted, the contract had probably been concluded totally at a distance therefore the right of cancellation would apply. Even if the part ex vehicle hadn't been inspected but a price offered and accepted and it was inspected at a later time, it shouldn't impact the distance side of the contract.

But if the dealer accepted the OPs description of the part ex vehicle, (which for £500, they may well have done) then irrespective of them possibly inspecting it later, the contract would have been concluded when payment was made and accepted.
I realise that this sort of discussion involves a lot of "ifs, maybes and possiblies" and without far more details it's impossible to know for sure so all the OP can really do at the moment is to read their contract and see what the dealer says.0 -
They won't just give a full refund because of the work they have done and presumably another owner is now on the V5C devaluing the car. if they take it back at all, expect a couple of £K knocked off.Why on earth do a major purchase on 'click and collect'; especially a car, I am lost for words?3
