Tonik Energy transferred to Scottish Power but at what cost?

So of I was on fixed tariff with Tonik (fixed for period of time) I can switch now? Scottish Power put me on DD without me approving this. I had DD with Tonik but didn't want it with SP. I've dealt with SP in the past and would never choose them as a provider. I said I would go to the ombudsman about their use of my data. I wanted to pay them by bill and then switch. It's all a mess. I should have £45 credit with Tonik, still not received! Not sure what to do.0

Hi,
I wanted to share my dreadful experience with Scottish Power.
First of all I was happy with Tonik. Never had any problem.
On 14 Oct. SP informed me that I was to be transferred to them and they asked me to wait for my account to be set up before leaving them. I gave them the info they needed right away.
It took them a week to acknowledge they had received the info.
Then 5 weeks later (!!!) I was informed my account has been set up. The so-called competitive tariff they offered me was highway robbery. Not just more expensive than Tonik but 50% more than what E.ON offered that day!!!! Needless to say I switched immediately. On 10 Dec the switch had been completed.
The problem is that since SP took 6-7 weeks to set up my account I remained 2 months with them. The final bill I received yesterday is just extortionate: those months with SP will cost me as much as 4 months with Tonik/E.ON.
I've seen people here say that SP was dependent on Tonik's final bill. In my case it was produced on Nov 3. So things could have moved much faster.
I'm absolutely furious and have complained to SP. Guess what they replied to me? I should have left as soon as my account was set up... which is exactly what I did (actually I have an email from E.ON dating 26 Nov, so 4 days before SP informed me the account had been set up, while it already had been).
Is there anything I can do besides sharing my awful experience with them on the Web and give them the publicity they deserve?0 -
Oliver - Contact CEO with all the info -Keith.anderson@scottishpower.com. It will be dealt with. I had terrible customer service before switching. I listed it all, kept them up to date. Eventually offered me £40 compensation. I refused and said I wanted cancellation of all energy costs from time with them (10 Oct to 27 Nov) as well as refund of Tonik credit and DD they took. They agreed and all sorted. Now happily with BG Evolve2

Malchester:
Thank you for the advice. I posted yesterday a review on Trust Pilot (as I theatened SP I would if they ignored me, which of course they did as mentioned above). I received an answer this morning and a customer representative offered to look into it. I'll do as told and if it's to no avail, I'll write to the CEO as you've suggested.

I didnt want to wait for Scottish power to identify which tarrif they were billing me for and switched to OVO on 15 November. I am still waiting for a final bill from Scottish power and my credit refund from Tonik. Ive heard nothibg from SP other than their standard answers that i will get my refund once they prepare my final bill. Are there any rules that force an energy provider to produce a final bill after switching elsewhere within a certain timeframe? I'm furious they are sitting with around £400 of my cash all this time since that was my credit balance with Tonik.0

Can anyone give me some advice please
I transferred to Tonik January last year via you flip so it was not a deliberate decision. After a few months l noticed that my direct debit was not being taken out of my bank. When I contacted Tonik they said my direct debit had been cancelled. This is something I can prove was not done by myself. I was given a figure got the outstanding amount which was estimated. When I gave my actual readings they said the bill was exactly the same figure. Obviously ridiculous. Anyway I attempted to pay. I emailed and received requests to confirm my name and dob which I did. I did not receive a reply and the next thing I got an email from Scottish widows stating they had taken over my account. I moved house a couple of months later and settled my final bill with them on the understanding my account was closed. I have recently received an email to an email address I no longer use not the one I was using to communicate with Tonik from the administrator stating I oew 800 pounds starting from last January. Can anyone advise if I have a case not to pay this as I made every attempt to pay and they cancelled my direct debit. If I tell them to take me to court and lose would I have to pay more than 800
Thanks
