Were the units of gas and electricity consumed on your latest Scottish Power bill comparable to the units consumed on your past 5 Tonik bills?

I did wonder that myself tbh.
The whole SOLR things a joke,as are the majority of things OFGEM are involved with, and supposedly regulating.
Much like the third party lot that are fudging meter readings for reasons best known to themselves.
If they need be involved at all then we the customers should be giving them our readings which can then be passed onto the relevant supplier.
Would also provide a readily available source of information in the event of supplier "issues".

The argument for the existence of these third party verifiers , is that many consumers read their meter incorrectly or not at all (or attempt to cheat the system by inflating their final reading to get more units at a lower price!!)
Since the previous consumption for the property is recorded then it should make the changeover readings more reliable!! Obviously doesn't work in lots of cases.

Meter readers are just as capable of wrongly reading a meter as anybody else.Do they still exist?.
Middlemen in most situations are best avoided, however where energy supply is concerned it's a probably necessary evil as the alternative would be the supplier versus the individual.
I do find it interesting that in any dispute that benefits the supplier there's plenty of information instantly available.
Point was I dont see the sense of sending readings to suppliers who then send them to the third party, when we could send them directly ourselves.
Information centrally held and accessible, maybe overthinking that as it appears relatively straightforward to me at least.

I too have been transferred to Scottish Power and my account is up and running but not informed by Scottish Power that the switch is finalised, can I now be able to switch supplier?

Have you looked on compare sites as SP are now on there and offering a new low tariff. It maybe good for you and this would save the hassle of moving. It would mean no exit fees as you can move between tariffs on SP.

I assume you are referring to SP  'Super Saver November 2021 B3' ?
    That tariff has some catches:-
    * It's a Smart Meter only tariff so you would have to get a smart meter installed if you don't already have one.
    * It has a £60 exit fee.
    * SP only scores 2.2 out of 5 for Customer Service.
    * For me it works out £82/yr more expensive compared to Avro.

Tonik have still to give me my final bill, despite me asking several times. When I spoke to SP they assured me that everyone would receive their credit by the end of November. They also told me that anyone switched from Tonik was free to switch suppliers. I am looking forward to switching on the 10th December.
