Driving lessons question

I would disagree that its just as easy, particularly if you are somewhere you don’t know, however you’ve answered your own question by saying your confident.venomx said:
I'm unemployed at the moment. But what I'm saying is driving in the dark is just as easy as other cars have their lights on and you can spot them a long way a way hence if I'm confident I could drive at night should I still get a refresher?AdrianC said:
Seriously? You don't think you will ever do a commute to a normal-office-hours job in the winter months...?venomx said:Also is it important to do a lesson at night ?
When I had lessons before we never did any driving in the dark and I was fine, I also don't expect to be driving when its dark either.?
Why is driving in the dark seen as being somehow hard? Unless your night vision is particularly poor, it's really nothing to be scared of. You manage to walk around in the dark, right?
At the end of the day there is no need for a refresher at all... just you want it and so its up to you to decide what you need a refresher on.2 -
In the dark street lights cause shadows, other car lights cause glare and can dazzle you. Driving in the dark is not the same as driving in daylight.0

If you've never driven in the dark before - it might a good idea to schedule a refresher lesson. Judging how far away a set of lights are and how fast they are approaching is slightly different to when you can see the whole vehicle in daylight. Also different depending on whether you are in a built-up area or on an unlit country road. On the same basis - think about whether you want to ask for a motorway lesson. It will depend very much on how long it is since you drove previously and what sort of experience you had then.I need to think of something new here...1

Pedestrians don't always have their lights on. neither do parked cars, kerbs, etc..venomx said:But what I'm saying is driving in the dark is just as easy as other cars have their lights on and you can spot them a long way a way hence if I'm confident I could drive at night should I still get a refresher?0 -

Thing is during my lessons back in 2010 I never did any motorway or night time and was fine
I suppose once I've had a couple of lessons I'll make a decision then

Find in the day, but horrible at night.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

DVSA say " You should not carry out driving lessons and motorcycle training in England up to and including Wednesday 2 December 2020."The use of "should" suggests that it is not a legal prohibition.1
