Driving lessons question
I'll be getting some lessons in soon as I havent drove in a few years ( refreshers)
Is it possible to pay as you go and just book one at a time as I'll only need 3 or 4 at most .
I'd be looking to do them in mornings as that's when it suits me beet
Also is it important to do a lesson at night ?
When I had lessons before we never did any driving in the dark and I was fine, I also don't expect to be driving when its dark either.?

Why not phone some local driving instructors and ask them if you can book one-off lessons. No-one on this forum can possibly know whether they will or not.It gets dark quite early in the winter, I would think some practice in the early evening would be a good idea if you are not too sure about it. Also, well done on not simply getting in a car and driving around if you feel out of practice - a really commendable attitude. Hopefully you will soon pick it up again and regain your skills; a few lessons to avoid a possible accident is money well spent!5

Consider a Pass Plus course. 6 lessons which will cover a number specific areas of driving including driving at night.1

Unless you are a "key" worker, driving lessons are not available at the moment due to covid restrictions.1

Ok that is understandable. Not booking anything right yet as I'm waiting to hear back from the DVLA regarding my health conditionSoftCentaur said:Unless you are a "key" worker, driving lessons are not available at the moment due to covid restrictions.0 -
According to gov.uk, no lessons at all until 2nd December. No mention of any exceptions.SoftCentaur said:Unless you are a "key" worker, driving lessons are not available at the moment due to covid restrictions.

Seriously? You don't think you will ever do a commute to a normal-office-hours job in the winter months...?venomx said:Also is it important to do a lesson at night ?

Why is driving in the dark seen as being somehow hard? Unless your night vision is particularly poor, it's really nothing to be scared of. You manage to walk around in the dark, right?1 -
As you are talking about doing some refresher training its down to you to know what you need/want. Whilst you say you were fine before in the dark you were also fine in general before but now appear not to feel fine so maybe reassess that decision this time.venomx said:Also is it important to do a lesson at night ?

Most instructors tend to be ok with booking lesson by lesson but it is naturally more expensive than buying in bulk and you’ll have to fit around their regular customers in terms of timing1 -
You are correct ! Even key workers have had their tests cancelled. It's worse than I thought ![Deleted User] said:

I'm unemployed at the moment. But what I'm saying is driving in the dark is just as easy as other cars have their lights on and you can spot them a long way a way hence if I'm confident I could drive at night should I still get a refresher?AdrianC said:

Driving lessons have been banned in England, but not in Scotland (where I live)!
