That gave me a chuckle this morning. When we were felling, we had a viewer who said that if we filled in our pond, they would "consider making an offer" ... It wasn't a huge pond but absolutely part of a landscaped garden with a little bridge over it and lots of plants and wildlife. I did not "consider filling it in".

As an aside, don't entirely discount horse people as some of us keep our horses in weird and wonderful ways that look nothing like traditional grazing. I keep three on 0.7 acres which "should" be impossible and yet I have the best grasses and bees and butterflies in the area as well as three fit healthy horses. OK, it helps that we're not on clay and that I used some alternative surfaces to grass in places, but it can work!

That is definately in 'dead dog' territory....!
  • I did laugh!! 😆 having said that at least you have managed your expectations.. we had a lot of viewings before we accepted the final offer but they were the type of viewings where they tell you they LOVE the house and then you never hear from them again or they say it’s out of price range.. why view??
Good luck with the next ones!

Sometimes you just have to laugh ...
I had a couple who turned up for a viewing and had a dog with them which they wanted to bring in. I had to tell them that no, they
can't bring the dog inside, they can view in turns while the other is outside with the dog.
Then I had one which looked around and said she cannot consider the house because it has a utility room which prohibits her from walking around the house. The utility room is visible in the first picture on RM, not sure why they bothered.
Another time 5 people turned up ... five! walked around, said great potential, loved the house, never heard from them again,
So many people are simply time wasters.

  • When selling our current house, one couple told us they weren't going to put an offer in as there wasn't enough space to install a 3m x 2m sauna/steamroom. The house is a pretty small 2-up 2-down terraced property, all dimensions clearly stated on the advert. Not sure if they expected it to be the Tardis or something?

I think the most memorable rejection I had was a young man telling me he had a 'massive' outdoor swimming pool, and my house was no good as the rear yard wasn't big enough for it. Same house. And as I live in Cumbria, its warm enough to swim outdoors for maybe 1 hour of the year.
As long as the ice is thin enough to break through, it's always warm enough for a swim.

Buyers lying and not paying for searches... Why would they even do that?  Such a waste of time for you.

I have a dog and wouldn’t dream of taking him on a house viewing!
