It is not a fine, it is monetary compensation for breach of contract.

They will not send an invoice.

You must pay within 30 days in full and then there is no CCJ.

Tell us that the Judge did reject the false added £60 at least?  There are very few Judges who are inexperienced enough to still allow this scam.

And come back and do the Government consultation!  If you want this rip off to change, you must be part of it.

Please don't miss out on changing things from next year, to £50/£25 and a fairer system of proportionality.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The ending of the hearing got cut short so I didn’t receive any of the final details. I’ve been told by the court there will be a ‘order’ email sent with the results and compensation amount. At Present I’m sure about the amount and who I’m sending the money to.
  • I've just received my 'General Form of Judgment or
Order' and been ordered to pay £266.
I thought I'd read that even if I lost it wouldn't be that much?

This was for a single £100 PCN? If yes then the order (probably) covers:

    £100 PCN
£60 debt recovery (so the judge was hoodwinked)
    £25 filing fee
    £25 hearing fee
    £50 solicitor charge
    £6 interest charge

The interest could have been challenged (as it was their choice to wait X months to pursue the debt through the courts. And the interest would only be due against the original PCN value, so £6 looks high for the period since the PCN issue of Nov 2020). The debt recovery scam charge should have been challenged (and will have been if you used the template defence and associated WS advice from here) so it looks like you've been put at a disadvantage by the failings of the remote hearing system.

Damn, I guess it is what it is. Yes I included the recovery scam in my defence and hearing but it looks like it wasn't enough.

    cheers!

Sounds like you missed the vital moment where costs were discussed at the end and you were not there to take the Judge to the law and facts that expose the £60 as false and unrecoverable.

Not all Judges read everything and ‘get it’ without the Defendant having to voice it.  Unfair because if this had been a face to face hearing you’d have still been sitting there.

So, now get your own back please.  Please don’t forget what I posted before, hopefully the Consultation will begin in August given the MHCLG said ‘Summer’:

Please, please come back every week to check and make sure your voice - AND YOUR FRIENDS’ AND RELATIVES’ VOICES TOO -  is/are not missed from this final opportunity to take part in the Government Consultation, coming very soon!

Yes, it was pretty unfortunate timing. With regards to this letter, is the certificate of satisfaction really necessary. The CCJ will be cleared soon after I pay so I'm guessing it's not really needed, or is it worth it for peace of mind?

Anyway, thanks for your help throughout this process.

No, you don't need a certificate of satisfaction.

Do come back and do the Consultation to stop this court-enabled three figure extortion in its tracks.
