We now have a dedicated board for Advent comps! Please post them individually, with FB, IG TW in the title if relevant, making sure the correct end date is entered in the date field, so they can be ordered by end date using the drop down options. You can find new threads by selecting 'new' from the drop down menu. Fingers crossed this works for us 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Edit. Please do not post advents on the main board while we see how this experiment works, we'll review it for next year when we see how it works.

I'm being a bit thick (no change there...!)  Does this mean that we shouldn't now post advents on the main board anymore and the ones that are already there will get moved to the new advent board. Or do we have to post them in two places now: the main board and the advent board. ??

No decision made about that, the new board just appeared as if by magic this morning. My first thought is that they only need to be posted once, on the Advent board, and BGs will move over any posted on the main board while we get used to it. But there may be a complication I haven't thought of. As we've never had a dedicated Advent board before we may just need to 'suck it and see'. 😊

Are we supposed to add them to the existing thread in that board, or use the board like the main one and post them individually?

It would seem illogical to post them twice, so I would suppose that all advent threads will be moved to the Advent board, and all future advents be posted in there.
So it'll just work the same it always has, every advent gets a main thread in the Advent board (not in the main forum).  Hopefully this should negate any need for an advent thread since they'll all be in the same place anyway, but it does make it important that they are named correctly as there won't be a filter for Twitter comps etc in the same way that the advent thread would generally work.

Post individually please, or they won't be able to be sorted by end date.
It would be a good idea to add TW, IG, FB to titles too. (The existing thread was made before we got a dedicated board.)

Nobody has volunteered to man (person)  an advent thread, it's a huge amount of work. With a dedicated board we can select 'new' from the drop down menu, will that work for you? (I don't normally use the Advent thread so I can't envisage the difference)

Please have a look at the new, evolving Advents Board. Any thoughts about how it should work? Dare say it will take a while to 'bed in', before we get it just right.

It is intended that the Advent comps are posted directly on the Advent board and not on the main Competitions time board. So rather than these posts with links to the original comps, the original comps themselves need to be transferred over.
Obviously it needs a BG to do the transferring, so perhaps @Misslayed could use the links in these posts to locate and transfer the original posts and then remove the posts with links.

As all Advent comps will be posted to this new board, it will no longer be necessary to identify them with the A at the start of the title but should we continue to use the A or just use the normal E. Until people get used to posting on the Advent board, there will probably be a number of comps still being posted on the main board with an E which will need transferring over. If we are going to use the A, any of these being transferred will also need the E being amended but if we stick to the E, all those already created with an A will need to be changed to E.

It does also need to be made clear what an Advent comp actually is. Just because a comp mentions "Advent" or "Christmas" does not make it an Advent competition.
The comp here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6208980/a-17-12-first-class-watches-social-media#latest has been classed as an advent but I do not see how a weekly competition that started back in September can be called an Advent comp just because it runs nearly up to Christmas. 
Similarly, the one here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6209537/a-14-12-my-baba-advent-rc/p1?new=1 where all of the 12 competitions are already open and running and the one here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6211696/10-12-beneath-the-tree-christmas-prizes-from-toast/p1?new=1, another weekly comp which runs mostly throughout November and only the last week is wholly in December.
All three of these were posted in the Advent thread and are included in the posts on the Advent board.
If these sort of competitions are to be called Advent, we may as well call any comp running during December an Advent
The main point I am trying to make is that it needs to be made clear what is to be included.
