is not like others ( lloyd's, santander etc. ) to meet the criteria every month, to pay at least £1500 in your account ?
If it was, it would say so in the T&Cs that you have to agree to when you open the account.
Not only this but in common with any contract you sign, you should also read and understand (at least the key elements of) how the account works prior to agreeing them.

Sometimes they hide stuff in there to see if people read them.

    People rarely read them.

Weirdly no, it's like they are making the same mistake as TSB did in 2014.

I now have my VM bank account and I managed to register for their mobile app and online banking. The problem is, when I try to log in online, it asks me to authenticate using the mobile app, and it says that authentication is successful but then it's not logging me in. Is there any way to log in online on a browser w/o using the mobile app? Thanks.

I don't think there is, and I don't know why you experience the issue. I could log in alright just now, so you would need to ask VM. In the meantime, as you have the app, you should be able to operate your account through the app?

Do you get the message "Login successful" both on the app and in online banking?

I sometimes find that it takes several seconds before the homepage loads in online banking.

Thanks both. @RG2015 yes I get that message, but after that the screen freezes. Might be a browser issue, will retry. @colsten what if you can't access your mobile (left home, lost etc.) or you don't have a smartphone? I find it odd that VM doesn't offer an alternative way to log in online or maybe it does and I don't know how. Not the friendliest 'digital' bank so far.

    Usual stab-in-the-dark suggestions:
    1. clean your browser cache/cookies
    2. try a different browser (nb. I am using Chrome), especially if you have extensions or security tweaks installed

There is no way to log in to the VM current account without a 2nd authorisation from their app. If you have a tablet you should also be able to download the app here which will give an alternative wifi option if you cannot get a mobile signal.

I assume that you can see your accounts on the app and it is just online banking that you cannot access.
