On Wednesday 5 November 20 I bought the above iPhone from CeX and found that the sales person had wrongly included the wrong battery type – for data - not the “pin type” which she had shown me earlier - probably picked up the wrong battery when putting the accessories in the bag.  I was looking forward to changing the settings but now CeX is closed for the month, due to the new CoVid restrictions and the battery is down to 47%. Is there any where I can buy the right charger – I've tried E-Bay and Amazon but looking at their various models these are all the data type.

I would appreciate advice asap please.

Sorry but you're mixing terminology - do you mean the actual phone battery (as in your post) or the charger to charge the battery up? Presuming it's the charger you need, then If you have a laptop or pc or anything with a usb port then any micro usb lead will work - eg https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heavy-Duty-Braided-Micro-USB-Charger-Charging-Lead-Data-Sync-Phone-Cable-2M-3M/182953870445?hash=item2a98e6846d:g:mY0AAOSwVUpc9uPs

    Alcatel don't make iPhones.

If it's the lead that is incorrect then you can buy one from Poundland. They are open for business as usual.

For 'battery', read 'charger', but do not understand reference to 'data'?
This phone appears to use a standard micro-USB to USB connection, which you can get almost anywhere-my local garage even sells them.

I have to apologise to you and all the other posters for the confusion I caused. Yes I meant the charger as in the "subject" and my second paragraph.

I remember the salesperson showing me the pin type "lead" and the slot on the phone into which it goes, so I was devastated when I saw the USB lead which I was told previously is for "data" not for charging phones.

However this charger has the USB lead at one end, which plugs into the phone and an Alcatel plug (called a Travel charger - a Euro plug - written on it) at the other end. Fortunately, I have a converter plug for it to go into the power supply; there is no other slot from the phone to attach to my pc.

Before I go ahead please can you please confirm this set-up is OK to proceed for charging?

    Regards

Yes, it's fine, just use the European charger with the UK plug adaptor. All modern phones use USB chargers, so you can charge them from a 13A socket or any device's USB port.

When I tried to sell a laptop to Cex, they wouldn't take it because it had a European charger. And yet they're selling other devices with such chargers anyway.
But anyway, any micro-USB charger will work. They're very standard now. Some cables and plugs will be quicker than others though. iPhone chargers and the new USB-C chargers won't work.
