Not misogyny on my part at least. The equivalent programme on Magic also has one male and one female presenter. The difference being the Harriet Scott on Magic doesn't think the world is fascinated by the minutiae of her life, and that "me, me, me" is the only subject of interest or importance.Doozergirl said:I love a bit of misogyny of a
Sunday lunchtime.I listen to Chris Evans because I like the way he brings philosophy into most conversations. I feel like I'm learning most mornings. I hugely enjoyed his chat with Alain de Botton a few weeks back. Can you cope with Kate Lawler on Virgin or is there something wrong with her too? Like being female.

Planet Rock - can’t beat Paul Anthony
Personally, I find many female radio presenters a bit like many female comics - annoying because they always try too hard, they just don’t come across as being very “natural”0 -
Laura Woods, Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil - aka Talk Sport. Nothing is funnier. Used to be a CE listener and the amazing Simon Mayo but BBC just shot themselves in the foot. Inane drivel mostly now.0

Totally agree with the radio 2 comments, I also used to listen all the time but now flick between radio 4, Heart and Smooth radio.0

It can't be beyond the wit of man [yes, "man", we're talking about computer programmers here] to write an app that lowers the pitch of any female broadcaster's voice at the push of a button, should the user be so offended by the sound of the female voice.

I hated Chris Evans, he sounds creepy when he talks to children. Thank God for DAB. Lauren Laverne on 6music suits me in the morning but their afternoon presenter is irritatingly unfunny, which he thinks is funny. Steve Wrights still good but a lot of the new music on radio 2 is awful. Why is this on the diy board?0

This is "In my home", of which DIY is a subset. I inferred from the OP that his listening habits have changed now that he's working from home and no longer drives to work, but re-reading the OP I realise nothing of the sort was said!Norman_Castle said:Why is this on the diy board?

As an old fart I listen to radio 4 extra, a bit of nostalgia, the goons, Hancock, the navy lark to name but a few, most of which were a bit before my time , but I love listening to them now, plus the good plays that are on, I don’t really listen to music anymore, sometimes radio 2 or gold, and I listen to my local radio to and from work...0

The best breakfast show is provided by John Acres on BBC Radio Stoke (IIRC, he also does stuff for R5)Bedside alarm had R2 as soon as I hear Zoe Ball's voice it forces me to get up and switch off!Tried Chris Evans but got bored especially when he was clearing out his garage!Agree fully about Simon Mayo and R2 foot shooting0
