It says paid or closed, so does not specify cancelled so I don't think that would do unfortunately

Closed, cancelled, eaten by the dog!  What does the lease company want?  They cannot expect a PPC to change their systems to suit the vagaries of lease companies!

I share your frustration entirely Le_Kirk! However the text there leaves it open that it may have been paid (and therefore not cancelled) rather than cancelled so does not prove what I'm trying to say

OK so email the parking firm and ask for them to confirm and also that your data (and that of the lease/hire firm) will now be removed, because a cancelled parking charge supports your DPA 2018 (GDPR) 'right to be forgotten' and you are asking for your data to be erased once they have confirmed that the parking charge was cancelled (and not paid).
