Car seizure

I need advice regarding my daughter's situation. May 2020: Daughters car seized by police suspected to be used in a crime to date this is still under investigation. My Daughter gave a lift to someone on a WhatsApp group acting as a taxi where she was paid for the journey. Unbeknown to her they committed a crime returned to her car she then dropped them off at their destination. She was arrested in May and her car was seized for forensics. The Police said the car was to be returned to the finance company who would contact her. On a number of occasions we contacted audi they could not trace the car assuming it should be in her possession. My daughter did not continue her monthly pcp payment the car was not in her possession nor any information of the car's location was forthcoming. Eventually, she has received a default notice asking for the outstanding payments and no further action would be taken. At the same time, Morgan Blake who is representing Audi informs her that the car is to be auctioned. At the same time a bill from a company holding the car. I have been trying to contact both Audi Finance and Morgan Blake from the outset neither have corresponded until now.
when I said I would seek legal advice then my call was returned. They informed me the initial default notice from Audi was defective that we would receive a new one which terminates her agreement resulting in the car will be auctioned. My daughter is a vunerable person who suffers from mental health issues the mismanagement lack of communication and incorrect information has had an impact on her mental health.

My daughter's Finance agreement was taken out in 2017 for a 3 year period
  • The fact that her car was seized by the police does not rid her of the responsibility to pay the monthly payments.

That, in itself, is a crime.

Apart from the lack of licencing, I presume she wasn't insured for hire and reward?
Unbeknown to her they committed a crime
How serious a crime are we talking about?
My daughter did not continue her monthly pcp payment
    Ooops. Big mistake.

Which will come out of the proceeds of the auction - the financier will get the balance, and your daughter will be responsible for the shortfall and her debt for the unpaid contractual dues.

The question is what went on in the middle...

Did the police ever try and contact either the financier or your daughter and say "we've finished with the car, it's ready for collection"?

Which we were willing to pay. The initial default notice issued by Audi which they now see as defective will be replaced with a termination notice.

Did the police let her know when the investigation was over? Did she chase the police?
    Why did she stop paying?

Although Automative law is different can they just retract and see it as a mistake it doesn't seem fair.

Was she paid for the journey which, as Adrian says is a crime?  Or was she just paid a small amount for petrol?

Did the Police return the car to the finance company?
How can Audi / Morgan Blake auction the car if they do not know where it is?
Are Morgan Blake solicitors or the finance company?
Who are the company holding the car?
Perhaps add some approx dates to the time line as it is confusing

    Only petrol money.
She was never told where the car was or asked to collect.
It appears to be communication between Police Audi and Morgan Blake very grey.
From May 2020 until today I had not been able to gain any information that made sense.

Was the "only petrol money" really only that in actual amounts paid?
Like, if someone wanted a lift to a crime and paid someone "petrol money" of £50 for a 5 mile journey, that is a lot more than petrol money.
