    Remove this:
The defendant recalls seeing one signboard that displayed charges for parking which contained several colours and looked like an overly congested small print."

and this (don't do their job for them nor admit that the 'permit only hours' are clear):
    of 8:00-16:00

The defendant recalls seeing one signboard that displayed charges for parking which contained several colours and looked like an overly congested small print."   - Oops that was not supposed to be in there!
    Edited...
The facts as known to the Defendant:

    2.       It is admitted that the Defendant was the registered keeper and driver of the vehicle in question but liability is denied.

    3. As these two private parking charges were from so long ago, the Defendant does not have the Parking Charges Notices nor any of the letters and has limited details of the times the tickets were issued.  The Defendant has requested a SAR but was shown no evidence with the Letter before Claim and has not received any data or photos back yet.   The Defendant is aware that there are no lights near the signs, that they contain several different fonts colours and sizes, some of which are incredibly small, and that the sign upon entry is blocked by the adjacent wall making it not visible and therefore avers that no contract was communicated, or breached.  The defendant has parked at 2 Kirby lodge car park previously as he works within the university campus but does not recall parking within the permit holders only hours.   The defendant remembers a ticket being issued outside of the permit holders only hours and calling the security campus on the internal university telephone system as they are responsible for issuing tickets. They admitted that a fault had been made and it was due to the issuer of the ticket being a new team member.

Looks good.  Tells it like it is and you can expand on this at WS and evidence stage.

    Brilliant thanks!
I have had another court claim come through separate to this linked to my motorcycle, I'm presuming to start a new thread is best?  Thanks

    Yes please. Presumably it's a private parking-related?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I have received a letter from DCB legal informing me that they will proceed with the claim and a copy of a completed directions questionnaire as expected but have not received a DQ from the court, I have emailed them today to check why. I haven't received anything back from my SAR request from First parking LLP which was sent on 30/10/20 should I send a follow-up letter asking for this?
    Thanks in advance

    1) check mcol. Everything you need about process is in the newbies thread. All of it.
    2) of course you do! Why do you need to be told ? It's pretty obvious a requirement
