You've not said why it is costing you a fortune. What extra have you had to pay out for?
You advise us to avoid the car without stating what model it is!

Yes you will need to have any dents repaired - Peugeot are extremely tight on 'acceptable wear and tear' (used to work for their finance company dealing with returns and all the charges involved). JAF is a massive rip off but I have to say it IS all there in the t's and c's. We used to joke is should be called Just Add Fuel And Servicing And Tyres. Sadly JAF is a case of if it looks too good to be true it probably is.

Apart from them wanting you not to crash and not to exceed the agreed milage why is it a rip off?

I’d love to be bullied by a salesman. It must be related to having attended an all boys school.

i took a break from these forums because people just like to have a go at posters. I came back after a long hiatus and low and behold it's still the same.
OP posts information about their personal experience and giving others good advice and someone has to defend a big multinational corporation and point to OP that it's their fault.

At a point in time PPI was the buyers fault, subprime mortgages was the borrowers fault, at a point in time CPI was the cardholders fault but guess what years down the line regulators realised they conned the public into taking them without showing the pitfalls. Just because the authorities haven't identified these contracts as being deceptive doesn't mean they're not.

But it is the OP’s fault. The size of the company doesn’t change that.
The OP took a car with a 6k milage limit and exceeded that. Unless the OP had told the salesman they needed a different limit and the salesman dishonestly still processed it as 6k then who else can be at fault?

In addition to the OP voluntarily signing a contract knowing the mileage is wrong, Peugeot are no stricter or laxer than any other PCP provider - they abide by the exact same BVRLA wear and tear standards, which are well documented.

Also - the per-mile excess mileage is instead of higher monthlies. Which works out more expensive over the term...?

And the OP is, of course, free to purchase the car at the end of the term instead of returning it, which will remove any requirement to pay for the mileage they've covered, rather than the mileage they've contracted for.

Er.... Peugeot, apparently.  Part of the "Just Add Fuel" package.  Obviously, I don't have any first-hand experience but Welsh Chris can probably provide more information.

So if I go into the showroom do I just ask the salesman to treat me like a naughty boy or do I ask for a 107 with a 6k mileage?
