Peugeot Just Add Fuel - DO NOT SIGN UP
Ok so... signing up to the Peugeot Just Add Fuel with Telematics was probably THE WORST decision I have ever made in my entire life. It has caused me endless problems and is costing me a fortune. Do not get this deal if you plan to change circumstances AT ALL in the next 3 years. If you do, make sure EVERYTHING stays exactly the same as it was when you first took out the policy. Also, don’t sign up for 6K miles. The salesman will BULLY you into doing so but do. Not. Do. It! They will charge you £100s maybe even £1000s when you return the car with extra mileage costs. Don’t even think about using this car as a commute to work - it’s appalling! Brakes constantly need replacing, window wiper motors go all the time, the battery’s die all the time, it is a useless car! The insurance policy WILL GO DOWN in price after your first year but they will not tell you! They will make you pay their expensive rate until you realise. After your first year, cancel the Peugeot insurance and go somewhere else!
I would absolutely not recommend this car at all. I got a new fantastic job and thought my life was going to be great but the car has caused nothing but trouble. I’m stuck in a mileage jail - I can’t travel long distances over fears I will go over the mileage. Don’t even get me started on the wear and tear!
DO NOT BUY

I also need advice on returning the vehicle. There are scrapes from when other cars went into me - do I bother getting these fixed? I have friends who had the same deal and had to pay £1000s back in repairs!0

And of course none of the above is your fault.......if you knew you'd do over 600o miles why agree to it3

How did they bully you into signing? Did they tie you to a chair and drip melted candle wax onto your legs until you complied? It's a well known fact that exceeding your contracted mileage results in additional charges, and would have been clearly laid out in your paperwork. Before signing did you analyse your previous driving record to see how many miles you were doing a year? Or did you sign up for the cheapest monthly package just hoping you'd not go over it - and if you did it wouldn't cost much? When you sign for this kind of product you have to assess whether it's the right product for you. All cars have things that go wrong - weren't they covered under warranty if it was a 'just add fuel' package? So although it might have been a minor inconvenience - it shouldn't have cost you anything in repairs?
If you have scrapes where other cars have hit you - didn't you claim off their insurance? You'll either have to make good any major scrapes like new - or take a charge on the vehicles return to pay for the loss of value. Some minor marks are usually acceptable for 'wear and tear' - but a gouging big white scratch up the bumper on a blue car for example wouldn't fall into wear and tear.
Brakes usually need replacing as they are consumable. If you spend a lot of time in start stop traffic, and it's an auto - you'd likely use more brake pads than if you spent your life on the motorway driving a manual car - again just how much wear will depend on your exact model, location and driving style.
Window wiper motors go all the time? So how many times is that? Once? Twice? Three times a week?
Batteries tend to die if you do lots of short distance driving - or regularly leave things on that shouldn't be (like phone chargers/lights etc.) - how many batteries have you had replaced? And what reason did they give for their failure?1 -
Yes, you pay excess mileage charges if you go over the contracted mileage... but the monthlies are cheaper. Which works out cheaper overall?
If wiper motors are dying "all the time", why isn't the new car warranty covering them?
If batteries are dying "all the time", is that because you're leaving electrical items on (USB charger in the ciggy socket?) and flattening the battery? Or is it the telematics box wired incorrectly?
If brake pads are wearing out "all the time", that's down to driving style.
As for scrapes being down to "when other cars went into me", why isn't their insurance covering the damage? Yes, you need to return the car in the condition you agreed when you took the lease on - the industry-standard fair-wear-and-tear guide applies.

Agrees to 6k a year. Complains when they charge for going over 6k a year. Seems legit...1

I would of rejected the car, how many times have you replaced the brakes, windscreen wiper motor and how many times did the battery go flat?0

"tie you to a chair and drip melted candle wax onto your legs"
"I have never received this level of personal service / attention from Ford"
Some people pay for that sort of thing1 -
