It's paid in arrears so you report the costs before the end of the assessment period in which you paid the charges. This was covered in a previous thread of yours along with some links which explained it in full, did you read all those links? Thread here.

I did but I suppose that post was more just asking how I went about claiming. Now that I’ve looked into it more I’m confused as my assessment period for UC isn’t the same as the monthly periods I will pay for my childcare. So in my example whereby my assessment period runs from 24th Oct- 23rd November, I would have an October invoice and a November invoice from daycare that each reflect part of that assessment period. I will
also have 2 receipts showing I have paid. Must I upload both of these invoices and receipts before my November assessment period is up and UC will work out how much I will get paid? Then it would mean the following month I will be uploading the November invoice (again) and then December invoice as my assessment period will stretch over those 2 months as well. I’m not trying to re hash the same question but maybe im missing the obvious but I am still confused0 -
I suppose what I’m asking is-
as my assessment period for UC credit spans over 2 months and my invoice for daycare will be a full calendar month- in order to show what I paid for childcare over my assessment period I will need to show 2 months invoices. As showing one months invoice will miss out one whole
week of my assessment period (I.e the last week of every month). Does that sound right or have I got it wrong?0 -
You report the childcare in the AP you paid for the childcare. UC will then include within that AP the childcare dates that fall before the end of that AP. Any childcare dates that fall within the following AP will be included in that following AP.So one childcare invoice you pay, could be split over more than one AP, as the childcare dates you are paying for may not be aligned to the AP dates. If you pay amounts of childcare which could exceed the UC limit per AP, you need to be careful with how you organise the childcare payments, otherwise you could lose out.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
