Hi I will soon be putting through to get help towards childcare through my UC claim. I’m a bit confused how I do this and how I show what my childcare costs. Have I to upload invoices or do I just declare the amount? How is that verified

IIRC you send the bill via your online journal every month.0

It's paid in arrears. You pay the costs and then report this on your journal by the end of the assessment period after the one in which you've paid the charges. Some information here. https://www.understandinguniversalcredit.gov.uk/new-to-universal-credit/children-and-childcare/

There is a reporting option on your UC homepage under change of circumstances, report Childcare costs. You report the amount paid, when it was paid and upload documents to confirm these details. The documents proving the childcare paid, must match the reported amount. UC do not pay for your children's lunches, so don't include these in the amount reported. If the childcare document shows an amount paid including lunches this needs to be deducted.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Ok so must I report it in my normally every month? I used to get tax credits so I just declared it the once that I was paying childcare and the amount that it would be monthly and didn’t have to do anything more unless there was a major changed.
ok so I will Upload the invoice and then I will ask for a receipt saying I have paid also and upload that receipt too? And do the same for very month then? Can I only report the previous month or can I report 2 or 3 months precious? Thanks0 -
