You can check the last date the V5C was issued by entering your vehicle's VRM  here:

Ahh !!!!!!, so you learn something new everyday, didn't realise the licence and V5C addresses need updating separately, so yeah it was in my old address. Maybe I should have done a bit more googling.

I had assumed that DVLA had given them old details, or they used some cheap third party company, but this is evidently not the case.

Ignoring the letters from the scum and I will do a bit go googling as to where to go from here. Certainly not paying £170 for the first haircut I had after lockdown!
All you needed to do is carefully read the replies and do what we said , you still do , so once you have done the V5C online , email a data rectification notice to the DPO at c p plus and attach a copy of the updated V5C as proof of I D , to get their data updated as well , but you may need to wait until the post person delivers it to your current address

These parking companies have direct digital access to the DVLA database and so obtain RK details that are current on the day they are accessed , no DVLA human involved

Not updating the V5C or the driving licence , or both , can carry a fine of up to £1000 each too !!
  • Sure. Address has been updated for the V5C now, so as soon as I get the new one through the post I will email the DPO.
  • Given I haven't got the PCN I'll make a SAR request too (thanks Fruitcake), will update when I get all the info. Cheers all

Why are you going to wait? The scammers may send a court claim to the old address before you get round to sending the rectification notice.

  • Okay, I'll do it asap using some utility bills. Do I just ask them to "erase my old data and replace it with my new address for service". Do I have to state any info from DRP letter, i.e. their reference, parking charge notice number etc, or just leave it pretty much at that. Thanks, and sorry if this info is elsewhere.

the former, the DPO is only interested in your data being accurate due to GDPR, nothing else, they certainly wont get involved with the case

a SAR obtains your data, including the docs and pictures etc, which will show the old address due to the DVLA not being updated

again the DPO will not be interested in discussions, just providing your data under the law of GDPR

You provide them with all the data needed to ensure you are not exposed to any disadvantage. This isn't an opportunity to play games with them.  Just do what's necessary, or what you think is necessary.
