Building towards a complete life overhaul....might take a while but determined to do it

My goodness, you are such a hard worker and seem to be able to turn your hand to anything. Saving yourself £700 is a great result, especially when you are busy building up your moving fund. Here's hoping the lockdowns don't affect your moving date. It sounds so easy when you say you might wait till the summer, but every day in a job you don't enjoy is a long time. Good luck with the valuations.6

Thank you Moneywhizz - I'm just incapable of sitting still for long - I get bored very quickly!
Have inspected the paint work now its all dry and I'm really pleased with it all. A good job done
I'm having my hair done on Weds - thought it best to go in case we have another lockdown which seems probable as I cancelled the last appointment. So Weds will be my day off and pamper day
Been thinking about what to do tomorrow and have another little list of jobs to do....- Contact the electrician
- Pop to B&Q for a few things
- Go for a run
- Finish my INSET presentation for staff
- Fill a few small holes so I can paint over them (en suite and spare room)
- Maybe take down the Xmas tree and pack it all away - will see how I feel tomorrow but its starting to get on my nerves now
- Take the dog for a big walk in the afternoon
- Clean the microwave and fridge out
- Quick sunbed for psoriasis patches
- Sort out the moss on the drive if the weather permits

Had a busy day again!
It started with heavy snow and a mad dash to the park in case we got snowed in and couldn't walk the dog. It snowed consistently until about 10am and we had about 3-4 inches in my street but then the sun came out and turned it all to slush - but the kids in the street did manage to build some snowmen first.
After a good freezing 45 mins in the park we came home and started on the list.
Fridge and microwave cleaned, painting touched up, Xmas decs down and back in the attic, followed by a hoover and dust to get rid of the tinsel and glitter debris.
Then a trip out to Homebase for some bits and bobs, Aldi for £8 worth of fresh shopping and a quick sunbed on the way home.
After lunch, I took the dog for a good hour and a quarter walk in the sunshine to get some exercise (snow put pay to the run this morning), then back home to fill in some holes with polyfilla in the en suite ready to paint over, treatment of the shower grouting with some industrial strength stuff (made a bit of a difference after a proper scrubbing but for it to look really good it will need regrouting), and left the electrician a message.
Also had a mini triumph - the fixing for a towel rail in the main bathroom was loose and although I'd tried to fix it before I'd failed and thought it was a job for a handyman. But, after buying more DIY bits its done and as good as newDaft how the little things make you most pleased.
Have also spoken to the clan and done a bit of Amazon ordering for them - speaking of which, the free Prime membership runs out today so that's been cancelled before it costs me anything.
So, a fairly productive day all in all. Oh, and another estate called back today to confirm their valuation date - the 23rd. The first one is being done on the 16th so I'll have an idea in the near future of where I stand.
Its hair appointment day tomorrow so that will make me look and feel better - my back is still niggly and sleep is fitful so a bit of pampering before we get locked down again will be good. With 53,000 new infections today I think its inevitable really, hopefully they'll keep schools off for a bit too - without that things won't improve. I'd still go to work every day to teach online and do all the other jobs I do, but in the interests of everyone else it would be much safer. Knowing the DfE though, we'll find out on Friday afternoon if there's any change to the current staggered return plan. No point worrying about it - will have to just crack on whatever happens.
I haven't managed to do any school work today and won't be bothering tonight, that's for sure!
Off to do a facemask and have a relax for a bit whilst watching telly .....

We had some snow too. Ours has stuck around but isn't deep. Have fun on your break.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Evening all!
Well, we're now in tier 4 and who really knows what's happening with schools after Gavlar's spectacular performance this afternoon! It is what it is though - just hope that people actually follow the rules.
Had a fairly relaxed day - took the dog to the park for a good run round with his friends this morning then popped into town to buy some new foundation and mascara (they're were both on their absolute last legs) and then get my hair sorted, Good job I did as they're closed for the foreseeable now, although I know worse things are going on at the moment for lots of people.
I asked the hairdresser about whether he thought it was thinning as I've developed a bit of a paranoia about it as it seems to be falling out loads when I wash it but he was adamant that it wasn't and that its all fine. I believe him as I've known him for almost 20 years and he doesn't pull any punches - made me feel loads better about it as I was starting to really get concerned. BUT, he did tell me that I'm now 100% grey/white under the dye - my roots used to be white at the front but I was clinging on to dark at the back but now apparently its all white!! God forbid I ever get ill and can't get it done - I'd look like a completely different person! I'm naturally very dark brown (well I was born that way!) but now have the hair of a 90 year old!! I'm not 50 until next Xmas!
Other than doing a bit of general housework, 3 dog walks and some washing that's been about it for today.
Nice to have a quietish day but seeing people.....

Just thinking about tomorrow (can't sit still and just do nothing....!)....
Hopefully, the day will go a bit like this...- Run with the dog if its not too icy (gym is now shut)
- Paint the en suite using left over paint from the stairs
- Fill curtain pole holes in the spare room
- Load of washing
- Big walk with the dog in the afternoon
- Write INSET presentation (even though I have no idea what's going on next week now, better to be prepared)
- Write shopping list for the weekend
That should keep me busy enough for the day
It's New Years Eve but its just a normal day for me.6 -
Could you stock up on home dye yourself - would you be able to apply it yourself? My DD is doing my roots - we leave it for a bit and then she slathers the rest on with her hands and wipes the excess off LOL. Working so far. I expect I'll have Jan's haircut £ to throw at debt as we're now in tier 4Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well, it's snowing again so I'm not sure about the run - I'll reassess when its light and can see how icy the roads are. The bare minimum this morning will be a good 45 mins or more in the park running around with the dog if a proper run isn't possible. Have worn wellies more than running shoes this week!
I have the decorating jobs to keep me occupied for the morning at least - slowly working through the long list - after the en suite there's only the spare bedroom left to emulsion, everywhere else has been done or doesn't need doing. At least I feel like I've done something productive this holiday. Most of the little fiddly jobs have been done too and its just the electrician jobs left to do.
Just waiting for it to get light so I can get out and about now......6
