November 2020 Grocery Challenge

Well I've been shopping today (20 days since the last SM shop). I went too early really and lots of things were MIA from the shelves (out and done by 08.00). I spent £36.09 on fresh stuff, and £55.59 on stuff for my stores (or those for the cat) including toiletries, cleaning stuff and all that jazz. We have lots in and had our half lamb delivered for the freezer so I'm not sure when we will need to go again.
If they keep rationing how many of something you can have (apparently I could buy 1 pack of toilet rolls and two packs of wipes, but not three (but the pack of toilet paper could be 4, 9, 12 or 18 rolls!) - at this rate we will be taping off parts of the house as no go areas because we can't buy enough to keep it stocked with necessaries. It just forces you to go out more times which is a nonsense. I suppose if people consider that to be stockpiling that is why they do it. No biscuits or crackers to be seen this morning, I had to resort to a bag of six bags of mini cheddars!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)

Hi all,
Could you put me down for £400 please, really need to have a couple of cheaper months. Going to visit our local wholesale meat place this week to see if I can get a bulk buy of chicken and anything else that takes my fancy.
I'm wanting some more recipes that I can either make in the slow cooker and/or batch cook and freeze.
Need to avoid too many with gravy (kids don't eat it much)
I already do pulled pork, a full chicken, and some stews.
Any ideas??Grocery Challenge 2024

Did my first supermarket shop of the month today, it was busy but my shop didn't have any notices about limits on specific items. I don't think they'd finished putting out some fresh stuff even though it was 11am as there weren't many onions, bananas or mushrooms but I still managed to get the things I needed. Total spend was £76.90 (and I did get toilet roll because we have 6 left and two children who think they need half a flipping roll for one poo)7

Put me down for £500 please.
After a couple of good months I'm feeling really positive and with another lockdown there'll be no visitors etc.
I'd say the freezer is half full, but fairly well stocked store cupboard wise.
Plan is a big shop this week and then leave it as long as possible again.
(although lidl vouchers only last a week so, may have to pop in to make use with milk/bread)September Grocery Challenge £74.54/£320
August Grocery Challenge £387.91/£400.005 -
Decided to do a combined monthly/lockdown shop early this morning. Off to T*sco and spent £40.39 on meat, cat food and other stuff for the freezer and a couple of Christmas items. Then to L!dl for fresh veg, eggs, tinned tomatoes etc and also got a Turkey. Might end up eating it before Christmas the way things are going. That came to £23.89. Ouch, that's a combined total of more than I normally spend but should last the month with just salad, veg top ups and possibly eggs. I want to avoid the shops as much as possible now.
Total spend £64.28 leaving £25.726 -
