Why they are only available to first direct customers and don't really offer anything interesting?
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

AMEX seem very good.
Barclaycard have always been fine.
These are the only 2 of my cards I've ever had to contact for disputes etc.0 -
First Direct are renowned for their customer service.0

I don't get all the love for Amex. I don't rate them at all and had a very negative experience with them, I'd avoid them like the plague. Very cliquey! (i.e. if you don't have a lot of money, forget it)
I have a Tesco card and a Sainsbury's. Both have excellent customer service and easily accessible online accounts. I've been with both for over two years and never had any problems whatsoever.
PS If it were me, I'd send a letter of complaint about the aggressive person on the phone. No need for that at all, and very unprofessional. Plus, with you putting that on this site, it really has put me off Lloyds. You can tell them that, too if you like. Potential customers put off because of their rude staff. See how they like that. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Well you don't have to switch your bank account of course you could just open a separate current account and then get the credit card0

I took an Amex Platinum Reward card for first time in 2016 - always had great service etc.
