Instant notification.

Hi. I need another current account but I want one with instant notification of transactions. I used to have a Starling account when abroad that had these and my Halifax account also has them, however First Direct do not, nor does the Virgin account. Can anybody point in the the direction of other banks with instant notifications? Many thanks.

Where are you a resident now?

If in the UK, you can apply for a Starling account which has the instant notification features you  mention. If you are not a UK resident, you won't be eligible for a Starling account.

HSBC is rolling them out now.
First Direct (owned by HSBC) is due to get instant notifications within the next few months
  •  I've been getting them for months from HSBC

Barclays also are doing instant notifications, although they only give you the amount of the transaction and the type of transaction it is, with no detail about who you are paying/has sent you money.
Eg) You have spent £2.79 from your account ending in XXXX
  • LLoyds have them on current accounts
  • Many thanks everybody.

It's a gradual rollout. I think the last set of iOS customers get notifications this month (those with credit cards).
I believe the rollout of notifications on the Android app starts this month but will roll out faster

Sadly not, if you leave them you cannot rejoin for 12 months.
I know many banks/apps give you real-time notifications of money spent but do any give real-time notifications of money deposited? This is what I really need.

Monzo do I've received a notification every time I've transferred money from one of my accounts to my Monzo account, or if someone sends me money to my monzo account.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.
