"Participants qualify for and enroll in VAU Issuers and acquirers must meet VAU service participation requirements. Acquirers can only enroll merchants who have been individually evaluated and qualified by Visa. Issuers submit updates to Visa Issuers submit electronic updates to VAU when a cardholder’s account information changes due to a lifecycle event including product upgrade, portfolio conversion, card expiration, loss or theft, account closure or other reasons, such as combining accounts after marriage. Issuers handle any risk or unique privacy situations using a “contact cardholder” notice. "whitesmith said:Is that true if the card is cancelled because of fraud?
If you've got your card details with 20 different companies then it's better if they all get updated and you complain to the single company that you're getting fraud from, because you probably don't want the hassle of your netflix stopping etc. But deliveroo are supposed to be doing something on their end to close the fraudulent account so it doesn't get updated and keep working. It would be great if you could say to your credit card issuer not to pay any money to deliveroo etc.
It would be interesting if they are actually new charges, or whether deliveroo are trying to wear you down by getting the new details and pushing transactions to recover the original money they lost.
I'd raise a complaint with the card issuer, take it through to the ombudsman. At some point there must be some explanation and come back on the negligent party.

Call me old fashioned, but I like to be in control of who has access to my card details. Even if the OP got cheesed off enough to close the card, payments can still be taken and you can be chased for them.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

The only way to be in control is to not have a card.Shakin_Steve said:Call me old fashioned, but I like to be in control of who has access to my card details. Even if the OP got cheesed off enough to close the card, payments can still be taken and you can be chased for them.

My HSBC card is blocked, via the app, as I only hold it for the regular saver, so, yes 😀northwalesd said:Can you block/unblock the card in the app? (sorry I don't have an HSBC card). I know (if it's possible) that's a bit more faff, but might stop the constant card replacement.1 -
I think I've been hanging round on MSE too long, a credit card is a spare DD & you could make some money out of that....wiseonesomeofthetime said:
