in Credit cards
My daughter's credit card shows amounts owed to Deliveroo which she NEVER uses. She reported this to HSBC who cancelled the card & issued a new one. 2 days after activating the new card the same thing happened - again Deliveroo. Again it was reported/ card cancelled/new one issued & AGAIN it happened. Daughter now on 4th card as every time she activates it within a few hours same thing happens - numerous charges to Deliveroo, She has activated card by phone/ app etc , done a virus scan on phone & made a complaint to HSBC but still happens. Anyone had similar experience? Any ideas what to do as now really stressed?

What are her living arrangements?1

^^ This. If someone is managing to use the card after reissue it is because they have physical access to find out the three-digit security code on the back of the card. So who is getting their mitts on it?2

It probably something to do with Visa Account Updater .
Everytime she gets a new card and activates it. Visa sends it to Deliveroo which means the fraud can repeat.https://youtu.be/xImAXWr1kuo

Is that true if the card is cancelled because of fraud?
Deliveroo is a popular target for fraud as the food can be delivered anywhere (ie it doesn't have to be delivered to the cardholder's address).
When (if) you get another card, remove (scratch off) the CVV digits before letting it out of your sight - see if that makes a difference.
I am surprised HSBC cannot help stop this.0 -

I’ve not had any other Deliveroo items charged to my card since it was replaced and the 3 digit CVC changed.I’m wondering what the daughters living arrangements are, as it could be someone she is living with is using the card for Deliveroo.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:1 -
They should be able to stop any transactions to Deliveroo just as any CPA (I know technically this is not a CPA).0

Don’t think that’s right as I had a fraudulent transaction from Deliveroo on my Barclaycard a few months ago and I don’t have an account with them or any of the food delivery services.I’ve not had any other Deliveroo items charged to my card since it was replaced and the 3 digit CVC changed.I’m wondering what the daughters living arrangements are, as it could be someone she is living with is using the card for Deliveroo.

Thanks for all the responses. Regarding her living arrangements - she lives alone & has been isolating & working from home since lockdown in March so no one else has access to her card or her details. Regarding activating her card - the last card she received she did not activate for a couple of weeks after getting it & within a few hours of activating there were 6 transactions to Deliveroo. I am puzzled as to why HSBC can't block any transactions for Deliveroo as my daughter has told them time & time again that she has never (or will ) use them. She is finding this very stressful indeed & HSBC don't seem to be doing anything to help solve the issue.

Can anyone give me advice as to what steps to take to stop this continuing to happening. My daughter has applied for a new card from a different provider but is really worried that the same thing will happen all over again when she activates the card. Any ideas out of this constant circle apart from not having a credit card?
