Oh this is interesting! I've never had that one but I had £5 off £40. DH had £5 off £30 the other day. I have seen people getting free cleaning products but never me. I thought we all got the same but maybe bit more random!

So week has been a bit of a disaster 🙃. I have the week off to look after DS1. Everything has been manic with easter and his birthday on Tuesday. On Sunday DH decided it was a good time to start assembling bunk beds (have been in storage) whilst I was trying to cook roast. Unfortunately though he won't admit it he's absolutely awful at flat pack (I do it all) so after spending ages putting 5 bits of wood together for one headboard he had a temperature and I ended up juggling making that whilst cooking roast. To be fair he has had a just below 40 temperature but he was in bed until yesterday apparently dying... He was obviously ill to a degree but I'm not the best at sympathy 🙃. We started potty training DS2 on Friday over the long weekend as we only usually get 2 days with him so was also trying to juggle that simultaneously.
Roll on yesterday and DS2 has come home with spots on his torso. Turns out that he'd had severe HFM before and not chicken pox 🤦🏻♀️. Only have myself to blame because I bathed them together thinking he had immunity. We're going to IOW tomorrow so perfect timing. He's okay in himself at the moment so only hoping it doesn't get too bad. DS1 had them in his mouth and wasn't good at all. I had a bit of a sore throat yesterday and slight raised temperature but it's okay this morning so going to take loads of zinc and hope for the best.
In happier news have OP'd PB money so getting closer to 170's. I feel like 210ish to now has gone really quickly (probably hasn't actually 😅).

Thanks @South_coast DS2 still in good spirits so fingers crossed! Anecdotally I've heard that the younger ones are usually better with it and he's not quite 3 yet so crossing everything.
I had a quick look out of curiosity and we were at 207k when we started last 2 year fix so we're down about 25k including the 5 I've done recently. I'm quite pleased with that considering we've had 2 in FT nursery for a good chunk of that at the highest rate we've had. The interest was around £800ish depending on how many days in the month so only £350ish (about £8400) was actually capital repayment, everything else was an overpayment.

@South_coast - I get heartily sick of the Mr L coupons changing. Just as I get used to a freebie, it's gone! I don't then continue buying it, so I fail to see what they achieve with the chopping and changing?

Haven't posted for a while as have been so busy! Fortunately DS2 wasn't too awful with the pox so it did't wreck the time away, though they are calling him patient zero as he did manage to infect half the nursery.. In my defence as soon as I saw spots I kept him off, but they're already spreading before they show so couldn't do much there…
Half way through the month and have 2k-ish left. We always seem good at this point then second part of month somehow chips away at it!
Usual money has been squirelled away. £500 into moving fund, £200 kids and £1100 into nursery pot.
I'm in the last week of my 30's now! 😱
My manager retired on Friday and will be very missed. I don't think it was coincidence that we were all summoned to a meeting yesterday. As expected, things are changing. The work my team does is going to Glasgow (not what I was expecting and I'm sure it will all go t*ts up). There are other jobs in our office for the lower grades but mine is basically gone. I do genuinely believe they thought they were doing people a favour, but I wasn't the only one who wanted to go and the lower grades don't get a chance of redundancy now.
There is one lower grade job ringfenced for me and my counterpart if we want it (it's one down from what we are now and not as low as the rest of the team). I'm pretty sure legally they would have to give her it anyway. They've said if one of us gets it our pay wouldn't reduce but it wouldn't increase either, so inflation would erode it over time. I don't want it anyway. Without meaning to sound arrogant (and I know it will), I'm very long serving and think I'd struggle sitting under someone who knows less and is less experienced, because that is what it would amount to. Fortunately I am off next week for my birthday, but once we have our individual chats I will see what happens. I think they are going to try and offer us another role (there are rumours which fit) but I probably don't want that either 😂. I'll report back when I know more…
