The second hurdle - Nichelette v the huge mortgage

Cashback from my car insurance has become payable so that's an extra £38 when it arrives. We've got about £250 left, but this month did end up being unexpectedly spendy.
We also had to fill up my car (£60) so DH could use it which would have waited until we were paid if he still had his. We used cc for that in case we needed cash for any reason, so have that plus will pay for car repairs on it when we hopefully collect it later on. Tonight I'll sweep whatever remains over to pay cc then pay whatever the remaining balance is tomorrow as what we have left won't cover car repairs. Boo!

Car was £302 so bit better than expected 🥳. Won't eat into next month's pay too much. Fuel I'd have had to pay anyway and even accounting for the extra £50 our skipped council tax is more than that so we'll actually get to keep a bit of that still.

Payday…
£1100 into nursery account
I've put £250 away for IOW. Hopefully that will be enough. It's only 2 full days and I used my clubcard vouchers to pay for tickets for Amazon World there so that's a day out. We've got cooking facilities so it won't be all food out.
Extra bit paid off cc
Another £500 into moving savings. Can't believe that is already at 4k!
Need to figure out what to get DS1 for birthday as that's 3 weeks away...

So we lost the interest rate gamble 😅. I'm getting DH to confirm docs to go to 4.2% this morning. We're going to switch from 1st April so saves us I think it was £67 instead of waiting until May? Suppose we've got lucky in a way as we've come quite close to it being worse than that with everything that is going on, and it's still better than 4.9%.
Have been picking up random food bits instead of doing a proper shop so need to meal plan and sort life out 🙃.
Have been getting birthday bits for DS1 as that's 2.5 weeks away. Feel like money is dripping away but will see how it goes until payday.
Decided it was a good idea to buy my chemical romance tickets last night. It was drink fuelled and probably not a good idea 😂. It's in Wembley which is a bit annoying for travel. O2 is far better from here. That (apart from cost and fighting for tickets) is what mostly put me off. Anyway, was browsing and found some with a good view (seated obviously 🤣) which were face value or thereabouts so I've gone with it.. I don't get out much nowadays and I will love it so I'm going to embrace it. I used to see loads of bands when I was younger but things change don't they! I've seen most of the ones I'd like to already so remaining list is pretty small now anyway. It's in July and DH got me tickets for another band in August. I won't know what has hit me 😆

Oh, forgot to add no redundancy news yet. There was a meeting last week but union rep was off so waiting to see if there is anything on Monday. Hoping they're not waiting until salesforce comes in because that's still a year or two away. I've mentally checked out now and can't wait to get away.

Went food shopping... £86 later. Clearly haven't been shopping properly for ages 😂. We got a lot though so I don't think we'll need to go again next week, will just be fruit and veg as needed, oh and DH's Friday steak 😅.
