Get involved. Potatoes for all 😆.

Checked Octopus this morning as I was sure we're in too much credit for our energy. Getting a £141 refund. Happy days.

Unfortunately -£22 for a new toilet seat. My dad decided to replace our perfectly functional one as it sat about 1cm in front of the bowl. Literally turned up one day with a new seat. He means well, but of all the things that need doing in our house that was hardly the priority. Anyway, new one is good quality in itself but the fixings are shocking and it is now hanging off on one side. We've fixed it twice (short lived), but I'm not dealing with one I need to fix every 5 mins so off it goes. I've got one of those family ones with he second inner kid sized seat so wasn't the chespest, but figure will be better in future as am toilet training DS2 post op (have been waiting for it so he wasn't having to rush about in a cast/didn't want him regressing because of it).

I want one of the old fashioned toilets where you fix the lids on with screws, none of the annoying ones with the invisible fittings

Man, I love potatoes 😋 Ever since stupid BF did a keto diet a few years ago (long since abandoned) and declared carbs the devil's work, they've taken on a mythical "naughty" air for me 🙄 I'm still working my way through the 5kg I bought for 10p in the run-up to Christmas as my annual treat, not sure I can reconcile myself to "investing" in more 😬😥

@South_coast it's a recurring offer so always next month 😆. I was a bit sad I couldn't capitalise on the cheap Christmas veg as had no motivation where we were ill, but I'll try and stock up at easter instead. I'm terrible I'd honestly live on cheese and any carb given half a chance. Fortunately for my arteries I don't 😂.

This reddit group popped up earlier. Might interest some of you. I've been sucked in anyway 😂

I know right? I've just seen one with 8 bags of potatoes for 2 people 2 weeks. 8 bags!! I'd be massive of I ate 2 bags of potatoes a week 😂. Maybe I should do this one day and you can all scrutinise mine 🤣.

The one that caused me to do a double take was the shopping for a singleton for a fortnight where they had like 15l of milk but the only fruit was 6 green apples :D

Maybe the single person was a giant baby in early weaning 😂.

DS2 operation went well. It was at one of the big London hospitals. We checked public transport but it wasn't good from where we are, plus wasn't 100% about a 2 year old on public transport post op so we ended up driving. I was worried about getting parked so we paid £12 to rent a drive bit it was a 15 min walk and weather was filthy yesterday. We allowed ourselves a lot of extra time for traffic so we chanced the hospital car park and fortunately got a space. Was capped at £8 as he was there for surgery so £12 wasted but better than walk with DS2 in the circumstances.

He needs cast for 3 weeks (not 2 was originally told) and isn't supposed to weight bear so you can imagine that's a fun one. He is actually being pretty good to be fair. He doesn't seem to be in pain and can actually stand on it which doesn't help. Anyway, that has completely bu**ered him going to nursery as I don't think they were so bothered by cast but are with weight bearing. I don't even know if they will want him in the splint as I'm assuming that can't go outside either. I don't honestly know how we're going to manage as it's not like DS1 who is old enough to largely be left to his own devices. Obviously we're still having to pay hundreds for days (weeks) we're not using too 🥲. We're lucky DH has a nice boss (I do too but my work hours are more fixed where DH can do things in the evening). It's still going to be hard as we don't have anyone who can help, and we're both FT so don't even get any respite days from being PT. Like most we don't get enough leave between us to cover school holidays without throwing this in too. Bah.
