Pip stopped without warning

Hi

I was awarded pip in December 2018 for 2 years. Two weeks ago I wrote to pip as I still hadn’t received anything about a review. I received a review form a week later which is just about ready to send off. I was due my usual pip payment today but haven’t received it, does anyone know why this might be? In the letter I sent them, I explained that my condition had worsened over the past few months, but I thought it was still supposed to carry on being paid while under review? Any insight would be much appreciated. I get pip for my depression and anxiety which is already through the roof without this. I am already up to my eyeballs in debt. I am unable to call them, because of my anxiety I cannot talk on the phone. I am so worried right now.

Thank you in advance.

When was your award due to end? Awards that are due to end soon are given 6 months extension. Do you have anyone that can ring for you because the only way you're going to find out what's happened is to ring and ask, we can only guess here what's happened.

Check your bank account again to see if your PIP payment is now showing.
Do you still have your PIP decision letter from December 2018? What is the actual dates of the award (that is, the from and to dates)?

Hi, still no payment. I was awarded from Dec 18 for 2 years. Due to run out on Dec 10th this year. I had a letter in June about the extension but they have started carrying our reviews and assessments anyway so don’t think it would be extended since they sent me the review forms.

As suggested in first reply you need to ring them.

As calcotti has posted, you'll need to phone them to find out what is happening. Do you have anybody who can phone on your behalf with you next to them?
It is possible that the payment has been delayed and will be in your bank tomorrow. However the only way in the short term to find out if there is a problem is to phone. You can write in and ask for them to send a wriiten reply but that could / would take weeks.

The problem is that organisations like DWP and Benefits offices don't understand that people have anxiety when they are required to make phone calls. My daughter is the same and I cannot always call places for her because they need to speak to the actual claimant.

Unfortunately, much as we can all sympathise, it's only going to be a phone call that clears this up. You're worried and anxious enough already about not having the money, so it's either carry on worrying, or phone to find out what's going on. You're stuck between a rock and a hard place and it's horrible but if you can, just grab your phone, don't even think about it and call them. You are entitled to receive PIP, so find out where it is.

Good luck, and I'm so sorry you are in this awful situation.

    Hi

i sent my review form in by 5th Nov and heard nothing back yet, not even to say they received it. Is this normal? I have anxiety on the phone and because of covid restrictions I can’t have anyone come round to call them for me.

It's not unusual. There are always delays around Christmas/New Year and there are ongoing COVID delays. Timescales are very variable. Sometimes you will receive a text message to confirm receipt. If you haven't had one the only way to check that it has been received is by ringing DWP (which I realise is difficult for you).
Did you get the payments reinstated while the review is carried out?

I did yes. I was just wondering if it was unusual for them not to confirm they received paperwork.
