Warranty is not your Consumer Rights .Warranty is subject to any terms they want .Consumer Rights are set out in law against the vendor .2

Important word highlighted. Unless it was bought direct from Apple then they weren't the vendor.JJ_Egan said:Warranty is not your Consumer Rights .Warranty is subject to any terms they want .Consumer Rights are set out in law against the vendor .0 -
Everyday'S a school day.
And it was exchanged at curry's. Took advantage of a deal they had where you trade your old for a new. Can't remember if we had to put cash to it but don't think so.0 -
To be honest I read wach reply quickly but thanks for pointing it out.Were_Doomed said:

I thought if it was out of warranty then you have to pay? Why are Apple or anyone allowed to say 2 years warranty if that's nonsense? Surely they'd have been stopped by now if that was so?Cash-Cows said:A device of this price and only 2 years old has not lasted a reasonable period of time. I suggest you take it back to apple to check it which won't cost. If it's not a fix they can do free then take it back to where you bought it. This out of warranty nonsense is just that and there's no 1 year cut off in the consumer rights act.
Her last ipad only lasted about 2 years before it started acting up - but at least the screen still turned on and she could trade it in. The ipad before that lasted about 4 years I think.
I've had iPhones where the battery starts acting up after 2 years. Pretty poor timefrane considering the money.
On the other hand, my laptop is 10 years old and perfectly fine. A new battery and SSD would give it a boost but its still fine enough.
Ive never had a phone where the battery acts up.
My tablet is 5 years old and its still going strong, battery is good.
Both android.0 -
Everyones view of good is different. Your good may be my terrible. My battery was draining quite quickly after 2 years on my iPhone 6S so i had to get a replacement battery.DCFC79 said:

I was more surprised the batteries drain quite quick but it being a 6s would make it a refurb model right ?JustAnotherSaver said:

No I'm talking about when it was 2 years old... So back in 2017 of whenever it'd be. I bought it brand new from Apple on release day.0

That’s really bad luck as Apple hardware is very robust and generally will last years and will get tot he point where updates are no longer provided before they pack in. I’ve had several and never had any problems. It does make me wonder what you are doing to them. 😉😆JustAnotherSaver said:

The problem with the warranty thing that someone mentioned is that you have to prove it was inherently faulty when you bought it, and that’s not easy to do, so for most of us, once the warranty is up we have to pay to get it repaired. For small items like this I usually add Apple Care+, it’s expensive but it’s generally no quibble if ytou have any problems. Most will probably baulk at paying for it though as I suppose it’s not very MSE.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. (The problem with the warranty thing that someone mentioned is that you have to prove it was inherently faulty when you bought it, and that’s not easy to do)Thats for the Consumer Rights thing not the manufacturers warranty thing .1
