iPad wont turn on. Yes, tried charging, power & home, plugging in to iTunes...

Noticed last night my wifes iPad looked like it had ran out of charge. Strange as it was charged to 100% on Sunday. I put it on charge for her as i went to bed. Got up this morning and noticed it was still blank.

Power button didn't do anything. Power & home held for 15 seconds doesn't do anything. Various cables plugged in to mains and PC as well as with iTunes fired up all don't do anything.

The back of the iPad feels a little warm when on charge although not hot so not sure if i'm imagining it.

It was bought brand new in July 2018.

Any ideas on how to get it working?

  • So in short, if it wont turn on then take it to an Apple store to see if they can fix it.

Is that the gist of what is stated? I don't think so.
  • Oh I must've missed something then because I didn't see anything else that applied.

What bit was it that I missed?
  • So you've tried (or at least checked) all of the options presented in the 2nd link? Ditto for the 1st link? Tried a different mains charger unit? (The one from your Galaxy S20 ... I think that's what you have per other threads ... probably has enough "oomph" to power an iPad).

Well yes. As well as direct in to the mains as in a faceplate that has USB
    have tried in both ports
took to the box room and tried in that one too
Then took it out and put it in the other port
Then took it downstairs and put in the one in the living room
Took it out of that and put it in the other port too
Gave it a day and then tried it again
Left it on charge overnight too.
Tried it in various USB ports on the machine.

The thread title should show that i've done a google search (to stop knee jerk replies of try google) and tried the usual suggestions.
I was wondering if there was anything a bit more obscure that doesn't usually get suggested that could be tried out.

So looks like it's a repair shop or replace.

    And i have a Galaxy S10.

  • I get the impression you're saying it in a way that i have missed something because i have not posted back saying wow this is fixed..? Because i have posted saying basically that the only thing that applies now is taking it to get repaired and i'm being asked - have you tried the links.

So then i think maybe i DID miss something.
I read the links (again) and either i'm missing the magic fix (again) or we're just going round in circles.

    Not sure which yet.

Found out our local repair shop have cut things right back because of covid and Apple are charging in the region of what would be £300 as it'll be out of warranty.
    £219 for a Galaxy tablet.

Wrong impression, your post suggested that the only solution is repair, but hey good luck with that ,I just wondered if you have tried a different cable and the Apple charger, apple kit is apple kit and they are fussy.
