I think we are being trolled.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.6

I haven't had 30% returns.
When I joined my current employer a few years ago I transferred a £100k DC pot in to their DB scheme and gained additional service years credit of about 9 years which improves the pension I will get when I retire by 9/60ths of my Final Salary.
Your question to me highlights what we have all been saying - you need to pause and find out what type of pension or pensions you have, what they offer at retirement and then make your decisions.0 -
Thank you for the reply Alan now that makes perfect sense , so if your company goes bust you will still get your pension , perfect , thank you for the reply ,really don’t know why people get excited on here ,0

ste00 said:... REALLY , so no your not being trolled , sounds to me like you know each other , like scammers , you never get that many reply’s unless there is something in it for yourselves , over to you , not one person has replied that has been disgruntled about the Ppf , and before you say how wonderful they are they are never out of court !
IMO forumites have been very courteous throughout the thread, offering the OP some very useful information & background, and have tried to get further relevant info from the OP to give him more specific help.
To liken forumites who have given their time and expertise to try to help the OP, to "scammers" is beyond ridiculous.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.11 -
The OP is clearly an idiot, just stop replying (he says whilst replying).6

I don't hold-out much hope but..... here goes...
OP: your opening post signalled to the forum that you do not understand the basics about pensions. As a result, posters have taken this into account when replying and have been very patient. The forum is trying to help you understand the situation with your pension and why you are not a victim of injustice. You have received replies from very knowledgeable contributors, including independent financial advisors who kindly give their time to this forum free of charge.
Your subsequent posts indicate that you think that you are all-knowledgeable and you are therefore resistant to any reply that contradicts your ill-informed understanding. This is your biggest problem.
You are not seeking knowledge or information because you don't even realise that you don't understand the basics. Unless you accept that you don't know anything on this subject nobody here can help you.
Bottom line... you are not a victim of unjust pension practice but suffering from a closed mind.7 -
You can't fix stupid......

I think this thread highlights the dangers of the government increasing the flexibility and options for drawing pensions.
In the hands of someone with basic reading and comprehension skills and a basic understanding of maths and a willingness to research first, it's great.
In the hands of someone with none of those things... It's a recipe for a meagre poverty stricken existence.
I fear that ste00 is destined to erase a life time of hard work....1 -

Many of the callers seemed to be working on the assumption that 'their' money would just be transferred to their bank accounts.5 -
