Did ABTA not also endorse the policy that Holidays should be refunded in the event of FCO advice changing between the booking and travel dates ?0

They wanted just the general story and main concerns. They are looking into all the paperwork. I had put about the FCO advice in my PTR email. They will get back to us ASAP and also try to get hold of LM. I won't hold my breath on that one.Butts said:Did ABTA not also endorse the policy that Holidays should be refunded in the event of FCO advice changing between the booking and travel dates ?0 -
Hi, hoping someone can help. Was due to go to Malta on 15th Aug, foreign office advised against all travel to malta on 14th Aug, last-minute wouldn't change my holiday and there was a charge to cancel my holiday. I have gone through the chargeback process with my barclaycard and last-minute say the service was there for me to have so won't refund me via my credit card. Do I have a leg to stand on? Any advice on next steps? Thanks.0

Well I find that strange as ABTA have said members should offer refunds to holidaymakers when the FCO advises against "All but Essential Travel"CathyP911 said:

This was the case with your Austrian Adventure.
LM.com are members of ABTA so it seems an open and shut case, or have I missed something?0 -
They said that LM said the service was available to me and so the money sitting temporarily in my card will go back to LM. I tried moving my holiday prior to going but LM wouldn't contact me back. When the FO advised against all but essential travel, LM didn't cancel or offer a rearranged date to go so I wouldn't lose my money. Any ideas kn my next move? ThanksButts said:

It was an advisor who spoke to us who just wanted to assure us that it would be sorted before travel date. Communications between us and LM need to be looked at to establish we have tried to sort ourselves and then they will speak to LM about it and sort it.Butts said:

Full refund to be given. Process already started. They get 14 days to get it back on our card or we'll start a chargeback.0
