Looking for a SMART Shower, I like the idea of the Aqualisa with Amazon Alexa control or maybe Mira

I have the mira mode dual shower/bath fill which I installed last year.
Very happy with it, on /off control outside the shower screen to turn on, plus using the app you can have presets which run the bath for a set time and temperature. So I have a setting for the kids bath, one for me and one for my wife

Thank goodness for a normal post that might actually help the OP instead of everyone falling over themselves to tell them how to spend their money. Honestly if people don't want to be helpful, jog on. It's not a product for you.

Or DS or DD has been too long in the bathroom and you need it... "Alexa, cold shower NOW".
Could also be used by the children to bully each other (or for domestic abuse).

There are many things in the home that benefit from automation, and there are some things that should never connected.

I can't see anywhere where someone has told the OP how to spend their money. They may have given their opinions as to whether or not what is wanted is a good idea or good value for money and after all, isn't this a site aimed at money saving?

As to suggesting that other posters "jog on".
Even though I'm new to MSE, I already know that it doesn't work like that when asking for opinions and advice on public forums such as this one.
  • As fas as I know , in order to have a shower you need to somehow get to your bathroom, take your clothes off and step in the shower and also I don't know many people who take shower with their phones, so what's the point paying extra for that ? if you are capable of  getting to your bathroom, and doing all  of the above - you are also capable to press , turn or twist one knob/ lever and it cost you big fat zero extra. Not much point turning shower from any place in your home, as far as I'm concerned I only turn mine on when I am in it. As useful as smart washing machine - unless it can load and empty itself of washed clothes ( and it can't ) it's a marketing gimmick with zero % usefulness in real life.

The OP asked about a SHOWER. This post said a lot about a BATH  and nothing about possible benefits of a 'smart' {sarcastic smiley} shower.

This is unfortunately one of the downsides of automation of this sort - whoever controls the app, can use systems like power, heating, hot water etc., to control or punish (potentially) remotely.

    A rather timely "news" piece - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-54554408

  • Some interesting points. Specifically I was interested in the Aqualisa Smart shower and how useful the ALEXA voice commands are.

  • I agree with DrStrangelove20. I recently purchased an Aqualisa Digital Quartz Blue shower.
While the shower is excellent it is not without faults so far. It was taking a long time to start up/close down but that problem has been sorted by the manufacturer.
However one annoying feature is that after running for five seconds the controlling dial starts flashing and there is a blast of cold water before the set temperature is resumed. This problem is pending at the moment, but any suggestions about cause of problem would be appreciated.
A shame really as when working it is really good.
