Studio catalogue difference in price advertised

My wife bought several items from the Studio.co.uk catalogue Autumn winter collection 2020.
One of the items in question was Haribo Share the Fun Tub priced at £2.99. my wife ordered two of them. (page 209 item H)
On reviewing the statement/bill my wife had been charged £4.99 each tub so total cost for those two items was £9.98 and not £4.98.
Phoning Studio to query this cost, my wife was informed that it was a special promotion in that catalogue and she had been charged the correct price. Nowhere on that page or within the catalogue does it state it was a special promotion.
My wife was informed she would have to pay the larger price or send the items back at her own expense.
Can you please advise me on our rights regarding this matter.
I can provide photographs is you wish.
Hope you can help Tim

I’m not familiar with this catalogue. How do you purchase, and when you paid, what was the price?0

Used to be call Studio Cards. now just studio.co.uk. wife chose out of their catalogue which we received in the post, rather than online, but same items online.
Wife used phone number to order, stated item and price and ordered two of them along with other items. Price difference noted on statement when it arrived with items.0 -

Does the catalogue anywhere say its a limited time or anything?
My very first job was with a similar type of company (before internet and amazon etc) and products each had a code like AB12345 where "A" represented the department (home, womensware etc), "B" represented the source (AW1995 catalogue or Spring 1996 clearance leaflet) and the numbers were the item relative to the department. As an operator you could replace the "B" with a questionmark and it would show your the different options, the prices and stock. So if you saw the item in the sales leaflet, lost the leaflet and gave the number out the main catalogue you got charged full price unless you'd mentioned it on the call... whilst in reality stock was all together they may have set that only 100 can be sold at clearance prices and once they're gone it shows as sold out but you just told the customer its sold out rather than saying if you want to pay full price we've still got 500 in stock.
When she placed the order did they not tell her what the total was? Did she not realise then it didnt add up? Did the delivery note not have the prices on? We only asked the customer to tell us the catalogue number and would read back to the customer the item title and price but 9 times out of 10 the customer started giving the next catalogue number before you'd got as far as the price.
Ultimately sales can be withdrawn without notice and it sounds like you were using an outdated price list effectively and maybe your wife and the agent didnt listen to each other properly. Are you able to return them if you dont want them at the current price? Guessing they are food so maybe not?0 -
When making the call to order the items in the catalogue, my wife stated the number, what the item was, then the price. at no time did the person taking the order question any of what my wife was saying. the items stated in the studio catalogue gave the number, description and price. No where did any information appear to say it was an offer for a limited time. the catalogue has only been with us for a week since it was delivered. if we return the product for a refund we have to pay postage which negates any money saved on original price.

Was there a code that came in a leaflet or on the order form with the catalogue? They used to do it when it was Studio cards & you had to quote the code when placing orders by phone or online to get the special/discounted price,
code was sometimes on the inside front page of the catalogues0 -
no code to quote - nowhere to say it was a special discounted price either in book or on the page of the catalogue.0
