Seller asking for a few days to move after completion?

I would say this is not your problem.AnonymousAardvark said:.......they have indicated that they don't have many other options...
Also, I would say, how many kids do they have? Last time we moved, we had a 3 year old and a 1 month old in toe without childcare.4 -
I can't stress all of the above .
I have allowed on previous occasions for some extra stuff that was stored in some sheds to be collected a few days later , but they had no keys and could only gain access if I let them in
In your case though I would totally advise against it and completion date is set in stone after exchange4 -
No no no
They bite the cost of someone moving their stuff out into storage or into self storage.

Thanks all. I have gone back to my seller and told him this option is unviable for me, and if they insist they literally can't move all their furniture on the day I'll suggest something along the lines of what Carrot007 suggested (i.e. they themselves move out, hand over all the keys and move out their furniture with my supervsion)

Completion is set at exchange not before. Completion is a date that all parties agree on. Are you being inflexible?AnonymousAardvark said:Thanks for the responses - I'm unsure of how to move forward on this then as they have indicated that they don't have many other options...1 -
They can pay a removal company to do it in a day or take it to storage if a delay at the other end.
Its a bit horrible because you want to help them out but its just not advisable.
Its time for solicitor to solicitor chat and their solicitor tells them why so they don't get too fixed on it being your fault.
Not overly convincing as a reason -sounds more like someone wanting an easy and probably cheap self move - sometimes you can't have everything and if you haven't got the manpower yourselves then you might have to pay,3 -
Their solicitor is providing your solicitor with an undertaking that the property will be vacant at completion. Have your vendors discussed their plan with their solicitor?I am a mortgage broker. I'm pretty sure they're not! The vendors are contractually required to provide vacant possession, but the solicitors won't have a clue whether it's actually vacant.kingstreet said:Their solicitor is providing your solicitor with an undertaking that the property will be vacant at completion.1 -
Really? I thought that was standard.davidmcn said:

Exactly this. Plenty of people move in one day doing little or non of the removals work themselves- they just need to pay a removals company. Then there is no issue with childcare as they will be looking after their own children.
