Didn’t you submit regular meter readings or check your bills?
this would have given you a heads up that something was very wrong and your dd would need to have been restarted.
naming and shaming a person who works for Eon is quite childish and it is always customer responsibility to ensure all bills and payments are correct.By all means ring Eon if there is an issue but a lot of this is down to you own inactivity. I would imagine you got an online account and didnt check it regularly.
get into the habit of submitting regular meter reads to avoid any catch up bills.
