Ringing local store was pointless , online shopping is fine in anonymous "dark stores" on industrial estates and not your local Tesco.
You should have told Tesco if you have mobility problems , the drivers then have instructions to help ( subject to covid safeguarding restrictions )1 -

I never understand how these episodes seem to blow up immediately. It goes from a polite ask of help to the Tesco driver becoming an absolute tyrant in seconds.
Clearly Tesco believe their driver over the OP. Why that is, I don’t know. Maybe he has a
flawless track record. Maybe he often gets thank you letters from happy customers. Or maybe they just are backing up their employee just because.Regardless, Tesco don’t want OPS custom and if the story is correct I don’t see why she would want to give them her money either. The only possible thing to get annoyed about is the delivery pass11 -

My daughter and I had a very similar experience with Tesco. Rude drivers who said 'it wasn't their job' to help customers, when Tesco ads on TV were saying that's exactly what their jobs were.
I think you need to write a proper formal complaint letter to Tesco. The following link gives you all the information you need, even the details for the Ombudsman should Tesco choose to ignore you.

Tesco CAN indeed intervene when staff in one of their stores behave unreasonably.
If they don't take your complaint seriously, please do complain to the Ombudsman.
Tesco delivery drivers had my daughter in tears on more than on occasion and when we complained we did receive some vouchers but we decided we didn't want to use Tesco any more since they were not willing to help vulnerable customers who needed help with deliveries.
We now shop at Sainsbury's online. It's a bit more expensive but delivery drivers aren't rude and if they (occasionally) appear to want us to unload crates ourselves we only have to ask them to do it for us and they do, without offence and with no grumbling. There are other supermarkets out there, you don't have to suffer with idiots at Tesco but I definitely would pursue your complaint and most definitely pursue a refund for your delivery saver. These days that old saying 'the customer is always right even when they're wrong' appears to have gone completely out of the window. You deserve compensation, and of course your delivery charge refund.
The OP needs to stop phoning and write a proper, reasoned letter to Tesco head office. Ultimately though it is the OP's word against the driver's with presumably no witnesses. Tesco will have the advantage of knowing if this driver has been the subject of other complaints. If he has then maybe Tesco will be sympathetic towards the OP. If, on the other hand, the driver has worked for them for years and this is the first significant complaint then they will, understandably, tend to believe the driver.
Ultimately (and there is no way of sugar coating this), Tesco can refuse further business from the OP at their absolute discretion.

If you were to maybe give a little context we may be understand better why you had problems accessing the crate.
If you were as rude to the driver I'm not surprised you find yourself in this situation.13 -

a) It was spelling I corrected, not grammar. (This was not an insult ... everyone should expect to be able to learn something. If the OP wanted to move forward with this then using the wrong spelling would further weaken their case).
b) I don't accept that I was unsympathetic ... I merely gave truthful and correct advice.5 -

Hate-Banks, I don't buy that they banned you for asking politely to take a box off the top, as has been pointed out we're speculating as to how it went down, but I'd take a guess that you got emotional when he refused to move it. Just forget Tesco & go somewhere else, I doubt they care they lost you custom as home delivery is such a big part of their business today.4 -
Give up. You cannot force Tesco to sell things to you if they don't want to. You can complain as much as you like, but they don't have to take any notice.Lots of other supermarkets do home deliveries. Pick one of them.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.5
