Money Moral Dilemma: Should I share my 'free' £50 voucher with my partner?

I can’t believe that this is a moral dilemma either, as others have commented. If you are seriously contemplating this, I can’t see much of a future for the relationship.0

What's it a voucher for?
If it was me and it was a voucher for - I don't know - The Body Shop - my partner really couldn't care less if I spent it on myself cos he wouldn't want anything from there anyway. If it was for something like John Lewis I'd maybe buy something for the house. If it was for something that we both might like, I'd just ask him if he wanted anything first, and if he didn't I'd spend it on myself.
I must say, the people who are all over these kinds of questions like "you're in a relationship so you have to share everything" occasionally need to wind their necks in a bit, people manage money in relationships in all kinds of different ways. Just because you live/sleep with someone doesn't mean you have to intertwine every single aspect of your lives. If you pay the bill from your own income, and you did the legwork to get the voucher, it's really up to you what you do with it.

I would put it towards something for the house or towards grocery shop.0

You and your partner share a house and are now in the process of moving to a new house,we can assume you both care for each other which is why your both moving forward together.I think a more pressing question would be,"are you with the right partner?".If it were me i would have mentioned this voucher at the first opertunity so we could both enjoy the financial result together. What your propossing seems very childish, selfish and cruel. What if your partner finds out?...........What if you found out that your partner had been recieving a quarterly bonus from work and had never told you about it,how would you feel?

£50 is petty cash, so it isn't even worth the bother of thinking about for a moment.

It's your partner so you should discuss with them but if it's something you want and they don't mind, then yes, spend it on yourself but first you have to run it by them otherwise they might not be your partner for long!0

Absolutely treat yourself!! It's a palava hunting for the best deals. You have earned it and he will not grudge you it.0

I wouldn’t even have thought about it as my money. It would be 50 quid I brought in for the pair of us. This happens regularly with cashback and suchlike I’ve never even thought of it as being MY money0

Of course you should share if you share the bills. No brainer0
